there's all sorts of great rivalries in the US in regards to college football (american football of course). not as intense as the rivalries in your neck of the woods but still good. my personal experience is with university of oregon (my school in the western U.S.) playing oregon state or university of washington (the state above oregon, not the capital of the U.S.). that may be too far for you so your best bet would probably be a southern US rivalry or northeast/midwest US rivalry.
