There is a diff. But a vtec motor isn't really all motor. Vtec is an engine hp booster jus like a turbo... if u gonna run a turbo rsx. Run against an sr20vet. Than its a race.. kinda lol. . Nissan is more race oriented.. honda is ok if u wanna build something decent for cheap

Racing RSX's with a SR20 is one of those times that you don't really have to push it, just wave as you walk away. Even on stock boost it would take a heavily modded N/A RSX to keep up. V-tec sucks yo.

well that seems low. Did you mess with the timing? rotate the cam angle sensor clockwise a lil and you would get a little increase in power. Advance the timing without leaning out or detonating

Think power to weight ratios though. The RSX weighs about the same and has about as much NA horsepower as the 240sx does boosted (if it's a red top). And NA horsepower has a smoother curve than boosted HP.

Your test would make sense if you were racing a built RSX vs a built S13, because the RSX's stock internals COULD NOT withstand boost, seeing as they are at almost maximum volumetric efficiency and stress capacity with such high RPM and HP output at such a low displacement.

Stock s13 sr turbo is very weak. Its boosting 7psi stock anything over 10 psi on the little stock turbo is innsuficiant and will not do you much goods. That is why this s13 couldnt do anything even though it was at 14psi.

well actually it comes down to build vs build, what was originally in either vehicle is irrelevent, considering its all just metal and plastic anyway.. also, that was just on flat ground.. all that was was a testament to difference in power on a flat surface. the real results are to be had on a track or a downhill run. the 240 with the sr on a tighter course would give the rsx an opportunity ride out the high ranges of both 2nd and 3rd without having to shift as much, but the nissan will.
