Looks like a bunch of east coast chit talkers posting where their neanderthal transport thinking doesn't belong.
I'm young so the robolink doesn't appeal to me but I do appeciate the innovation! I'm quick and nimble when breaking down. The air release fifth wheel though is something I wish more guys would consider, saves two clutch operations each load/unload.
@edwardojmorillo1 let me ask you Edwardo, what is not "smart" about this trailer? What can they do better? I'm not trying to put you down I would really like to hear what you would do to improve it. I have pulled these trailers and other brands. And I can tell you this they wouldn't build anything they themselves wouldn't put behind their own trucks...
@dgarr64 You are exactly correct....This week we have just put two trailers in service into our own fleet with this option, a Professional and an Easy Tail, to go along with the other two that we have already been using for almost a year now with the "Robo Links".
First of all you have to have a tractor that is set up for this. You couldn't just back any truck under that gooseneck and slide it up the frame..Secondly what if you have a hell of a load on that trailer and poor conditions such as snow or mud. You think tht truck is going to back under that trailer and pick it up? Or do you think your gonna need a 30mph running start to even come close to getting underneath? This isn't for me. I'll take the long way and know i'll get hooked.
@McGillicutty88 You are correct in the fact that the truck has to be modified with ramps in order to use the detachable gooseneck but as for getting under the trailer that is a non issue. As long as the ramps on the truck are built properly it takes very little effort even while loaded to get back under the trailer. If the ground conditions are poor then to help the situation out prior to backing under you would just move the machine as far back on the trailer as possible.
@zionisimkills What !!! Are you serious? Alot of the equipment can be loaded over the back on a 16 wheel . I never have broken an airline on a neck of a Murray.
whats a siefert??? you dont carry tools...forget to undo your airlines, you wait till daylight????what planet you truck on .......helpless....neck off less then a minute...cozad never ..siefert?? never...
just more sh!t to break down. Pulled a MURRAY for years, COZAD and SIEFERT to. if something goes bad on a job in the middle of the night, when a lot of equipment is moved, all it takes is have an airline go out, then your whole night is screwed, not to mention added cost.
I've got 3-front detachable goose-neck trailers, (2)-Trailkings; (1)-Global Trailer, and it does'nt take much time to uncouple the trailers gooseneck. What makes the Murray trailers so unique, compared to other trailer manufactures?.....the color of the trailer is impressive!
@edwardojmorillo1 that trailer was purchased by Teichert Const. They wouldn't buy any thing that wasn't smart and Murray wouldn't build anything that wasn't smart
@edwardojmorillo1 why is that? It has a safety in the valve to where the brakes are released that if the link switch is moved in to the open position it will be forced closed.
Wow that is a super cool feature for sure!!! Having that would save time and also your back from getting in and out of the truck so much. Only if my dad would buy a new Murray!!!

@99iwaena well, to begin Murrays are 3,000/4,000lbs lighter. Their designs are incomparable . Not to mention their durability.
