  • Fuudo is right. there is a little input lag on those screens.

  • Kayo is a Man From what im hearing... a Very Beautiful man lmao!!!.

  • Thanks for the interview, Zhi.

However, Fuudo was being formal in the interview. It was, let's say, disturbing enough for him to not understand a word of what Zhi translated into English, and his face showed that he wasn't comfortable with it. At least respect that and keep it professional.

@11:48, calling him "lazy" and pointing at him with your hand that way is extremely rude and unprofessional. A bit of humor is ok, but you're interviewing him as a highly-ranked contestant, not as a friend.

  • @amaj83

    Fuck you, you lazy motherfucker.

  • @19TSEliot48 I wonder if that's the extent of your vocabulary.

  • Lol, I wonder where the translator gets those emoticons like "^_^" @2:43 from.

  • Mago

that guy could probably turn piss into gold if t he thought about it

  • Now I have to access the srk forums through a proxy server just to view the cody subforums. Wish shoryuken mods would at least message or email me to state why they banned me.

  • I had made a thread on shoryuken talking about this video since they are responsible for the setups at evo. I got quite a few responses but then the thread got deleted a week later. I couldn't even find it in my history. I tried making the thread again a couple of days later but that got deleted not even a minute later. I then tried to send a message to a mod asking what was going on and then a message on the page says that I have been IP banned. Weird right?

  • All of a sudden I think I want a MADCATZ TE STICK! WHERE DID THIS DESIRE TO HAVE IT COME FROM!?!?!

Also thumbs up if you understood fuudo's interview without the captions :D

  • omfg I want that shirt. WHere do I get it??

  • @Redrio The Chun li one lol

  • Fuudo is hilarious.

  • how many languages does zhi speak?

  • Just do the whole interview in Japanese and hook us up with subtitles, too much is lost or changed when you're doing on the spot translation, like when you didn't translate the part about the CRT monitors and how foodo said he won more matches than lost against daigo but the zheeip translated it as "bodied daigo."

  • Umm if I remember correctly Wolfkrone eliminated mago, but mago is the viper expert?

  • There's going to be some delay no matter what console you have, when you compare it to the lagless arcade machines, 360 doesn't feel any less laggier than the PS3. Just be thankful EVO isn't being ran on the wii.

  • @kenzzzhou Stop being a console fanboy. Geez.

  • i hate how he says "fuuuuuuuuuuuudo san" JESUS lol

  • Zhieeep here. Annotations and subtitles have been added. Check out part two of the interview soon on Cross Counter TV's youtube channel!

  • Mike!!! Leave Honda!!! Time to New Character!!!

  • Ha! I wonder what they saw at around 11:41 their reaction was priceless!

  • Great interview guys!

  • 12:08 what are those hot girls doing at EVO? =p

  • @guy9787 trying to figure out where poongko and latif are ;)

  • I cant help but laugh at Xian "WTF" face in the Cross Counter Asia opening.

  • thanks for the translated interviews Zhieeep... i really appreciate it...

  • Great interview.

  • This is Zhieeep. I'd like to make some amendments to the interview. According to Fuudo, the lag was most likely induced by the monitor and setups, NOT the PS3, since Fuudo and the Japanese team had a PS3 in their hotel room played on an old, CRT monitor and they felt no lag. Many apologies for the mistake, it was hard to concentrate since Kayane, Kayo, Kara and Chocoblanka were all distracting me with beautiful eye candy during the process.

  • @crosscountertv eww kayo was distracting you, i hope you are kidding. If not please google "kayopolice"...

  • @dantebeow

    who cares, hes hot

  • @crosscountertv You guys could ask Spooky for a rudimentary signal flow for his setup to see if lag could be an issue. HDMI cables distribute signals digitally; it's either on or off. Unless it's the monitor, there shouldn't have been much lag. HDTVs will always have lag spikes, maybe that's what he noticed. Monitors at hospitals and airports have the least amount of input lag but are prohibitively expensive for tournaments. Maybe that could get a Viewlix monitor on the main stage next year.

  • @crosscountertv no interview with KayoPolice???

  • Damn, how many languages Zhi speak? I'm so glad Gootecks and Mike are helping him (& the singapore community) become a lot more well. If all goes well, he'll become the bridge between east and west.

lol. Man, that infomercial for MadCatz sticks is the best I've ever seen. If I didn't already own one, I'd totally rush out to buy one.

  • I'm not even gonna lie, I'm sad to see that Latif won't be going to SBO to body some Japanese because you know he would. As for Daigo I have no idea what he plans on doing, but thats what happens when you play the most popular character, everybody learns the matchup.

  • Just a suggestion but it would be cool if you guys had subtitles in future interviews with foreign players.

  • People play with modok competitively? (in the background)

  • @boomboominroom im pretty sure that guy was using thor and viewtiful joe too. his fights were hype

  • Fuudo Daigo Latif Poongko Tokido 5gods

  • Daigo dropped combo's cause he's human. Tournament jitters. Don't think it could happen? Its Evo. But lag is indeed something that could've been a factor.. but still. Human's make mistakes. Go ahead and make the joke that Daigo isn't human.. Poongko's nickname is The Machine, he dropped combo's.

  • @shinoobidan I agree with you, Daigo drop some combos whenever he win or lose but pples just notice that if he lose. Daigo, Poongko, Latif, Tokido and of course Fuudo did a really good EVO and are all some incredible players...

  • @shinoobidan it was only a miscalculation

  • @shinoobidan Honestly, Poongko's nickname should be the Beast and Daigo's should be the Machine. Diago is cold, hard, and calculated, and Poongko is random and unpredictable.

  • @shinoobidan I believe he got flustered with Poongko's rushdown. He seemed helpless.

  • Comment removed

  • @shinoobidan

i think the main reason he dropped combos is because of his lack or experience with yun

if he was playing with ryu im sure he would have made the semis at least

  • @lTheRealDealGamingl Daigo is one of the highest ranked Yuns in Japan. He is not lacking any Yun experience.

  • fuudo looks and acts so weird, like he's gonna cry at any moment. its cute, no homo.

  • This Is Like A Scene From Deer Hunter

  • The intro is too good

  • i like that shirt

  • I lost it when Zhi knocked over the boxes and screamed I CANT CONTROL IT.

  • y didnt gootecks compete

  • I'm not sure what I liked more... the interview or the Madcatz TE stick ad at the end.

It has two extra buttons on the side. What would you use them for, Mike? ... it has two extra buttons on the side.

  • When everybody waited for Daigo and Poongko, Fuudo came out and remind to everybody he's also one of the best players ever !

  • @uninmaco no it didnt stop being a dumbass. there isnt even a mw3 beta. so next time kid wait until its actually out yet.

  • Zhi is so psychic...

  • Poongko is my new favorite asian. Next to gootecks that is.

  • Correction if a Yun IS NOT top 3

  • I don't mind Fuudo winning at Evo, it just makes all the Daigo fans salty. And if a Yun is top three that's good enough for me.

  • I FUCKING LOVE FUUDO!

  • Fuudo is nice, better then Kindevu, that fat troll

  • Comment removed

  • Great interview. Also, you guys did a great job explaining what Fuudo said, but nothing beats subtitles haha.

  • YOOOOOOULLLLLLLLL

  • Crosscounter please, stop video bumping!

  • I wanted WolfKrone too pull it out this year :(

  • @SupaEzzy16 Same bro :(

  • @DivineForcesBro his Viper is the best but exploitable by Japan players DX

  • fuudo deserves to win but i really hoped latif would win this. after defeating daigo, Poongko and tokido i was full of hope. 2nd place is great though.

i was disappointed with fuudo when he said he doesn't respect anyone as a player .

  • @MonkeyDLuffy77 I think he meant that most player are on the same level but when it comes to players that impress him in term of doing something that is extraordinary, he did mentioned Daigo & Iyo. Can't really judge the translation that was done right on the spot. Could be a little mistake sometimes.

  • Who spotted alt 3 Vega?

  • @plukoman64 ROFL XD!

  • Does Madcatz approve of your ways of advertising? xD Funny everytime. Thanks for the interview. :)

  • what is the name of the song in all these damn soundblaster headphone promos???

  • 「へぇ~」で笑いとろうとすんな

  • Best Ending Ever! Madcatz TE Stick hahhaha!!!

  • As far as I know, Zhi also knows how to speak 'Frame Data'

  • Fuudo is a lot shorter in person, I thought he would be at least Daigo's height. On that note, it was the same for Daigo, Tokido and Mago. They seem so much taller in the videos lol.

  • YER A WIZARD FUUDO

  • Maybe Daigo should buy THOSE headphones next time.

  • damn zhi can speak chinese, japanese, AND english? i wonder what other languages he can speak

  • everyone sure as hell knows his name now!

  • That intro was cute the first time but every time? Jesus... I skip it every chance I can now.

  • If Mago is the "2-D God", the Fuudo should be the "3-D G-O-D"!

  • The intro was F***n gay as hell dudes. Don't ever show that sh!t again. For real.

  • @skrface13 lmao true shit

  • I'M LEARNING JAPANESE! oohHWeee!!!

  • nice prediction man.

  • Zhi called it

  • Anyone know a good way to learn Japanese?

  • @carelessmorning Go to college.

  • @carelessmorning watch this man's videos: youtube.com/user/laoshu505000

  • I can never make it past the first 40 seconds, ad keeps putting me to sleep. Perfect mind.....

  • @RaymanRayRay Use Firefox with Adblock as an extension. You will never see ads on Youtube again.

  • Who else here thinks Zhi made an interview of all top 8 and said to all of them "I wouldnt be surprised if this was your new EVO champion." and chose to upload only the one who won?

  • DATING ASIAN WOMEN AD on right of the video. awwwww yeaaaah!

  • Dude where did you get the red chun-li shirt? I want to get one!

  • what is the song for that creative ad in the beggining?

  • To everyone complaining about lack of subtitles: it's kind of hard to hard-sub a interview filmed two days ago during Evo.

  • @Jtehbunny

zhi's part wouldn't be hard to sub he has a list of questions he's using, you know what just shut-up

  • Great video! Lower the f-stop next time on the camera. Too much background in focus. =)

  • oh my god, that intro is fucking hilarious lmao

  • @ybxal it made me feel embarassed

  • MrWizard vs Kindevu: Millionaire Eating 2012

  • Hmm, if what Fuudo is saying is true, then EVO should really look into a way to try and reduce or even eliminate the lag from the displays.

I'm not defending Daigo, because Poongkyo and Latif played amazingly to eliminate him from the tournament, but Daigo was dropping combos left and right in the top 8 matches.

  • @TestingStrat I honestly think it's because nobody plays on PS3. It's entirely possible that people who regularly play on XBOX 360's would need to adjust. I know that's the case with myself.

  • @TheWeaponsLeft Nobody plays PS3? Fighters are played the most on PS3 especially in tournaments.

  • @TheWeaponsLeft Most players play on 360, but there are many top players that play on PS3 like Shiro, Haneyama, Poongko, PR Rog, and Combfiend, among others.

Adapting to the frame delay difference between the two consoles is not difficult as long as you have access to both and train exclusively on the console that the next tournament that you are attending uses.

  • @TestingStrat I doubt the lag was what made him drop the combo's, I heard that he wasn't feeling good during the tourney. I mean he plays online any lag he experienced wouldn't compare to what he normally sees, as well as the fact that no one else was dropping nearly as many combos. I just think he wasn't able to focus.

  • @TestingStrat competition is better than ever before. if ur not on ur game then u will get bodied. which is exactly what happened to Daigo. the days of Justin and Daigo dominating is over. i do believe that..next year look for a different EVO champs for both AE and Marvel. when Daigo won back to back EVOs in 2009 and 2010. that will be the last time anyone will win back-to-back titles in SF. and Justin winning 7 EVOs in Marvel 2...those days are LONG gone LOL

  • Harry Potter plays SF?

  • that´s right! theres no hu! just fu! xD never would have guessed that myself

  • so shy lol he reminds me of a younger version of sako, shame he didnt attemp evo.

  • Daigo got read like a book in some matches....he had some tough competition. These cats have been playing fighting games for at least ten years, which is what it takes to master an advanced craft.

  • Asian Harry Potter FTW! Big ups to Fuudo for being the dark horse that reaped a big bucket of win at Evo this year.

  • Srsly fck that gay ass intro off it makes it hard to keep watching from the outset!

  • his name is fuudo, only kindevu calls him a food

  • You should use subtitles rather than translating. it'd be less jarring and awkward, i just think it would flow better.

  • food is a badass name

  • Big ups to the Japanese players for making top 8 and to Fuudo for winning, but you got to admit they did tier whore this tournament. Can't wait for the new balance patch at the end of the year. That way next years Evo will truly show who the best players in the world are as opposed to who's the best Yun, Yang, or Fei.

  • @Ladas18 everybody teir whored. watching Street fighter on friday was unbearable, all yun vs akuma matches then after all the yuns lost we had to see them lose again in loser brackets.

  • @skiie I'm taking it into consideration that you get beaten by Akumas and Yun's all the time?

  • @pr0n3 no i auctually watched the stream all friday. there were some others besides those two but most of the matches are yuns/akumas nearing the finals of that night. I also don't play AE I quit after super too much IRL things also too many new video games coming out 4th quarter of this year

  • @skiie This is partially correct. I ran into 2 yuns in pools back to back. Before losing to Fei then got beaten in losers by the same Yun I sent to losers. On another note, there was a wider variety of characters in the tourney than yun/fei/akuma. In between breaks I walked around to different stations and seen alot of characters being played. Mainly to my surprise Ryu/Vega/Bison were in abundance.

  • @GoT2FeaRMe did you hit on that cross dresser guy? i would of.

  • @Ladas18 Tier whoring??? how bout you go play Fei and win Evo. Stop discrediting the player. Fuudo option selected every one of Poongko's moves and did the max punish possible. Props to his sick play

  • @DiscPriestHeals He's a very good player but that doesn't change that not using Fei would've meant he had less options, the opponent would've been less scared, and it would've taken him more correct plays - which would've been harder to do due to less options - to take the opponent down.

No one with a brain thinks tier whoring gives a free win. It just sometimes give people a big advantage, see: Daigo vs Tokido and Arturo Sanchez.

  • @Ladas18

Maybe after the nerfs to Ryu, Daigo and Fuudo had to switch it up...Tokido at least still kept Akuma...

  • And a new "Daigo" is born.

  • "Thou shall remember my name! "

    Signed, Fuudo ;)

  • Needs moar Kayo Police. <3<3<3

  • CROSSCOUNTER PEOPLE, next time, please add subtitles.

  • @Rafael2487Casual lol i want my personality to be fat lol ^^

  • @Rafael2487Casual lol is fat really a personality?

  • @Rafael2487Casual "Kindevu=Fat" Kindevu is a nice guy, his personality can't be defined with something that stupid.

  • @Recas1802 kindevu = troll more then anything

  • @Rafael2487Casual Implying fat is a personality lol.

  • @Rafael2487Casual Poogko is more of a Drunken Master, imo. :D

  • @Rafael2487Casual Mike Ross=Messiah

  • @Rafael2487Casual Fat is a type of personality?

"...The pronunciation becomes 'fuudo'. Soo and then, it was just like really troublesome, I guess you can tell this is like a really lazy dude..."

LOL talking trash right in front of him. and he has no idea. haha i love it.

  • lol goes from interview with the champ to commercial with scrubs

  • Fuudo is so cute ahh i want one!

  • フード

  • its a shame Gamerbee was beaten so fast :(

  • Great interview Zhi. I hope to see more interviews with other Japanese, Korean, or any other Asian players in the future. I'm glad Mike and Gootecks are able to expand Cross Counter TV because it gives us more opportunities to know different competitors in different countries other than our own U.S. communities. I feel like the world gets smaller and closer with stuff like this especially for the fighting game community.

  • @ispsagel50 I agree! You really have to dig around for information on the overseas players. I feel CC is doing the fighting game community a huge favor by having these interviews so we can get to know these players overseas that aren't named Daigo.

Keep up the good work, CC. I really enjoy these vids.

  • gootecks???

  • @97kaio

    jesus???

  • @Skelros your point???

  • @97kaio

    exactly

  • It's no surprise he did so well. Fuudo is a Virtua Fighter champion. Do you know how many Ph.D and Doctorate degrees you need to play that game? Tu meni.

  • @Tenrou2 lawl what, why is that?

how in depth is that game, anything like 3s?

  • @MMagentaHH

I play 3rd Strike every day and Virtua Fighter is much more complex than that game.

  • @MMagentaHH The Virtua Fighter series is considered by many the hardest fighting game to master. It is also extremely balanced. I've yet to see anyone complain about a character in VF.

  • @Tenrou2 WORD.

  • Who else here thinks Zhi interviewd all of top 8 and said to all of them "I would not be surprised if this was your new EVO champion"?

  • I wonder what Fuudo would say about Latif taking out Tokido, Daigo, and Poongko in a row. He had to fight three of the biggest names in SF in a row... I would have a Fn heart attack. Best Seth Line- Every time my butt hits this seat something explosive happens.

  • What's the song that plays in the beginning?

  • @phenomfawaz the engine room - a perfect lie

  • Zhi is one smart cookie.
