I have it connected to a 24 port switch and going all over my house, including my internet ready 60" TV that I stream Netflix and other movies on. I guess I am just one of the lucky ones that got one that works.

This is officially the shittiest router of all time. The worst part is when you get this asshole of a router with directv (because it's cheaper), you sign a contract for two years. @16jesusgarcia Open IE and in the address bar type in 192.168.1.254 and that get you to the interface of the modem. On top click on home networking below that you get 3 option click the middle one "wireless setting' you will get asked for a system password this was originally set up when the modem was first set up. if you don'te remember it click on forgot password and your given a hint. Once passed that screen now go to Wireless security and you will click on custom key enter new password :)

I have the exact same thing and it works great for the first day. Then the second day the wireless won't flash. I called AT&T and they said it was a wireless outage. I mean I can't have wireless outages because I own a restaurant and I offer free wireless wifi. The speed of the internet is about 3 megabytes per second. no, you don't have to have Home Telephone Service. They have Dryline DSL.

Yeah it's a common problem with this modem. I've seen the pin inside the modem to be loose also. BUT the power cord is an issue. Another reason the red light will come on is if you have it in a powerbar that is consuming too much energy. Worked in the field. Seen it all.

The router is truly crap. I am right now less than 20 feet away from the wireless router on the same floor and I am getting a Low signal strength at 36.0 Mbps...
