  • One of the best science fiction ever made. This and 2001 Space Odyssey Stanley Kubric are the best.

  • is our world becoming just like blade runner? please answer i would like some ones oppion thanks

  • I hear Ridley Scott wants to make another Blade Runner movie, not sure if it is in the works. I kind of don't want him to because Hollywood screws up a lot of movies these days.

  • wonderful

  • es impresionante me pone la piel de gallina

  • all hale a masterpiece this will always be the one that was way ahead of its time and to say that the modle of the main set went up in flames coz of the lites getting too hot ( ooooppsssii )

  • de las mejores ost o bso en relación a las ecenas

  • Edward James Olmos at 1:59.

  • 1982 !!!? is a joke?¿?

  • The 80's brought out the best in cinema in both theatrics, originality, and musical scores. Just simply mystifying. I'm sure the USSR knew that too.

  • oh, I thought that said Acid jizz... i was like wtf?

  • @RandomFilmCompany There's no way anyone but Ridley Scott could direct anything to do with Blade Runner.

  • @SCROGY Good thing Ridley is signed on to do a new Blade Runner movie then

  • @hush00 Man he better not screw it up. And how the hell are they ever gonna get actors to do justice to the original?

  • @SCROGY I dont know.. I'm just going to keep my expectations low. Blade Runner was perfect because of the music, actors and time in which the movie was made. A new movie won't have Vangelis(probably), Ford/Hauer and is probably completely cgi.

  • @hush00

    Sequel or remake?

  • @23house23 I've read it's going to be a sequel, but not a direct sequel... So with new characters and a new story line. No Deckard. Definitely not a remake if we're to believe Scott. But things can still change. It might become a prequel, who knows.

  • My all time favorite movie.

  • There is no way of remaking this!

  • 8 people never got the hard copy.

  • Been searching for music to put into S.T.A.L.K.E.R this is it defo going into the game.

  • All these movies clearly overestimated and failed to understand the rise of technology. There probably won't be such a thing as replicants for 3-400 years

  • @JamesGod08

Maybe but we are living in philip K dicks world.

  • Enhance it.

  • Thumbs up if you do not want to see modern remakes of classic movies like Blade Runner, Alien or Conan the Barbarian!

  • @mrprodigy83 Ah, it'll be funny to watch them try.

  • @mrprodigy83 I agree in 2 of 3, but I definitely would like to see new alien movie (-:

  • @mrprodigy83 Why would you want to remake Blade Runner? Its already perfect. It would just be turned into a mindles action movie with no philosphical meaning at all.

  • @usulsk

Its normality in hollywood to do mindless movies, and they do not hesitate to touch classics as well. They are already filming "Total Recall", can you believe that?

  • @mrprodigy83 You DID NOT just equate Blade Runner and Alien with Conan the Barbarian did you?

  • @Badfuzzy1 Read again.

  • @Badfuzzy1 Blade Runner does have a lot in common with Alien. All of Scott's repurposed dashboard graphics, for example... x^)

  • What awesome sound. Quality.

  • "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain. Time to die."

  • @Gilo101 it's a shame we never go to actually see any of that on screen.

  • @MapleLeafAce There are glimpses of Orions Shoulder and the battle of Tannhauser Gate in Soldier, with Kurt Russel, and in it's trailer. I know it's not quite what you mean, but it's there in a tiny way :)

  • Very cool movie from a PKD root. Scott made a masterpiece on his own terms and it doesn't have a lot to do with Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? – he tells precisely the opposite story from elements of PKD's novel. Film is different than books, ask Tarkovskii. Oh, and bravo Vangelis for the evocative and classy score. I especially like the Byzanto-Nipponese vocals.

  • FASCINATING! <3...even Mr Spock would say that! :D

  • "Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it? That's what it is to be a slave!"

One of the all-time greatest... there's still time for us to drive one of those spinners!

  • I think it's cool how Blade Runner was more realistic with it's flying cars, since only the rich (and the police) can afford them, and unlike most sci-fi movies, the sky isn't covered in flying cars.

  • story-wise, i prefer the novel; but the world would be a sadder place were it not for this movie...each single piece of it is perfect..

  • Less then 8 years till I live like Deckard.

  • "It's too bad she won't live!.. But then again, who does? "

  • exploring the photo reminds me of todays Photosynth

  • watch?v=6oDXRoA7msA for all Vangelis fan's watch please!!!!!!!!

  • 7 people will be retired!! Greatest movie of all time!!! Love Vangelis soundtrack!!!

  • really superb..no words.just goosebumbs .i saw that movie as a vangelis fan in my youth and its still super movie..its time way ahead

  • This film is performance art from beginning to end . . . no praise high enough, Ridley Scott is a genius, Ford a master, the sequence of photo enhancement - a brilliant combi of retro and futuristic elements and dialogue/sound effect/visual poetry . . . . Ford is flawless here.

  • i really hope some of this technology/atmosphere will exist in 2019 ... maybe not the 'spinner' flying cars, but the fashion is amazing - plus who wouldn't want to live in Deckard's awesome apt. building with that aztec/mayan sculptured decoration !

  • I know guys that hate this movie yet it's in their top 3.

  • sounds like the Doom 1 (PS1) soundtrack ;)

  • Ahhh...this isn't the main title music. This the music after the main titles. Amateurs...

  • @RotoPlasmX yes it is!!! amateur!! buy the soundtrack and you will find this piece named as 1."main titles".

  • Also the guys did a great job on the PC game that came out years ago, best film to game converstion in my mind, kept all the same music and the actors voices for their parts. If you find it check it out, has some creepy moments in that too.

  • @DudeKong I've still got the game and run it like a screen saver just for the atmospherics it generates. Great movie great music great game

  • Nice, thanks for posting.

  • Still looks beautiful. No doubt what is achieved in Avatar and films like that is amazing to watch, but a couple of decades and hundreds of millions of dollars later, stuff doesn't look much better than this. Worse in a lot of instances. Bit like the CS-80. Sometimes the old stuff IS the best.

  • @colin5577 Nice way of putting it mate, I totally agree. I love Avatar and was blow away by it when watched in 3d in cinema, I just thought this is the future. However maybe the absence of money means more creativity. Look at the star wars Franchise, love the originals, but the new one's look too polished, the worlds do not come to life I feel more closer to the action in that Death Star trench than any of the battles in the new films.

  • Seems like in this film and one of my fav of all time shows that China took over amercia? in the book and film they kept mentioning world war so maybe still great movie.

  • @Mo0ive1Us3er I belive that China and the U.S. merged in this version of the future, much like they did in the series "Firefly."

  • Harrison Ford's finest production, and that of Vangelis and his wonderful CS-80. Darn it, the sound of that beast gives me the chills everytime I hear it.

  • put down paris hilton lindsay lohan , go do something useful arrest snoopdoggshit and daddyyankiboysweiners drug dealers and pushers on kids and young whitemx Girls

  • whoever dislikes this film or tune should die

  • Music , images , this is a perfect opening !

  • This is supposed to be set in 2019. In 9 years the world will be this Technologically Advanced? yeah right, we have much catching up to do......

  • @BuddhaZenMind Heh if we really put as much money into science as we should of since the late 60s, we WOULD be there soon

  • oh god this music gives me the creeps every time i hear it...

  • @medz31

Once I will listen this on a audio system with 10.000Watt speakers in a great hall or so:D Then live has completed for me:)

  • I have Blade Runner on HD and its Amazing .....goosebumps isnt the word as the sound track kicks in...its .......a dream....from ......its just special...and I see things in the movie I hadnt seen before every time I watch it......

  • @woodyatlarge hd no one has hd its all about blue ray

  • @psykosel

    Blade.Runner.Final.Cut.1982.x264.720p.DTS.HD.DVDRiP-SiNNERS

Its 720p HD I have not Blue Ray

  • I think thats a 20 megapixel camera hes using!.. imagine that!! you can zoom in your fotos and see your grandparents humping. in another dimension before you were born!. ahhh the 21st century!

  • besides in the dvd of blade runner the superb documentary DANGEROUS DAYS vangelis doesn't appear at all, they speak about him but he does not appear at all....... why?....

  • the producer of the film once said that vangelis was a very good musician, but in those days maybe wasn't the good choice, because like he was composing perfoming recording all alone, the work was delaying too much, so much that he couldn't go to take the oscar for chariots of fire, today everebody speaks great things about the movie and the music, but in 1982 producers the composer and harrison ford were quite ungry with the result........

  • @drchepa Well actually that whole movie production was apparently a nightmare. I hadn't heard about the discontent with Vangelis, but I'd heard too that Ridley Scott and Harrison Ford had many differences also during the making of the movie. Harrison Ford hated the voiceover from the original and had to do it under protest. Of course the later cuts of the movie don't have the voiceover. The voice WAS shitty I have to agree.

  • "More human than human". Or more owl than owl.. An interesting aspect of this movie is that when mankind one day is able to create a being far more intelligent and superior to any human, humans will be the ones who are "outdated".

  • why is it called main titles ? it is not in the beginning of the film ?

  • @slihfshf maybe you should try watching the movie, you could probly figure this out.

  • @betterthansex123 I'll to REWATCH it, you stupid : this scene in the video is NOT in the beginning. So the Main Titles had some sound added on, from another scene ! If you can't understand that, fuck you

  • At the start of this video feature clip at 1:29 - I envision myself entering the mystical realm of the Heaven Divide with the melody of Vangelis brilliant work as my guide. Blade Runner is a film well ahead of its time and just perhaps a reality that awaits mankind.

  • This is what Ridley Scott was really good at back in the days. Science-Fiction is his thing. His recent trips to big epic scale movies did nothing to me, like Robin Hood, Kingdom Of Heaven etc.

Hence, I'm really glad he'll be directing the upcoming Alien prequel *yay*

  • @SpyengoEen the extended version of kingdom of heaven is quite better than the original one, for me. but iam agree that the young ridley was much better.......

  • I'm getting goosebumps listening to this music!

  • All this moments will be lost like tears in the rain (Roy Beatty)

  • Thanks Philip K Dick, thanks Ridley Scott, thanks Vangelis

  • It's great wonderful move with beautiful music. My favourite sf film ever. Funny but many years ago in 1982/83 this film was beat by "ET" on financial and Oscars!!! Incredible but is was Ridley Scott's total financial failure and no Oscar. But this move is like best wine, older is much better. How many films are the same as that?

  • @piotrwdk i think the reason why it failed to catch the minstream it was far too new , cyberpunk back then was still relevitively unknown , but blade runner was the film the set the standard right before william gibson released neuromancer and brought into the mainstream , there where only few writers back then of cyberpunk , gibson and dick , asimov and bethke were the americas finest cyberpunk writers

  • its movies like this that make me wanna look more into transhumanism. I think its humans only option, we have to evolve with the technology. Or technology will evolve over us.

  • @shortymatt420 we will all be plugged into the Matrix, if we aren't already. That is where techology is leading us.

  • Doe's anyone else get so utterly caught up in these mesmerizing scenes that other raptures pale in comparison ?

Just float me on an endless digital wave

    Immortal !

  • Just a so beautiful and confusing vision! Maybe our world in a couple of decades. With Google as a global world company. Furthermore, what is the name of the new google's mobile? Nexus One, isn't it? Here we go!

  • Wasn't this movie set in the year 2019? That's less than a decade away. Woo hoo! Flying cars and Darryl Hannah Nexus 6 Pleasure Replicants for everyone!

All that, and a new life awaits me in the offworld colonies? Can't wait!

  • Can't wait for the rebirth of Atari either ;-)

  • @Mibawls Yep...I remember being a teenager in 1982 and seeing this movie and thinking 2019 seemed so far off. Now it's...what? 8 years away...LOL.

This movie was so far ahead of it's time. And, IMO still holds up quite nicely nearly 30 years later. Kudos to Mr. Scott.

  • @Mibawls

Maybe not flying cars, but we'll definitely have driverless cars by 2019.

And we might have computers with an IQ equivelent to Darryl Hannah by 2030.

  • @Nightmonkey17 LOL!

  • @Mibawls yep the future comes fast like old science fiction.

  • @Mibawls Im really excited about the Darryl Hannah part, and the space travel too :)

  • This film is perfect and so is the music that goes with it ....Absolutely MARVELOUS !

  • I M P R E S I O N A N T E!!!!

  • "If only you could see what I have seen with your eyes"

  • This soundtrack gives such a a feeling.. what else can give something like that??

    Vangelis = perfect

  • Truly one of the GREATEST movies ever made.

  • the best movie and the best soundtrack ever! i love this movie! I watch this movie befor i go sleeping :) the sound is sooo relaxing i love it

  • Timeless soundtrack and movie.. a masterpiece!

  • This film is the definitive gold standard against which all other sci-fi films have to live up to, the best soundtrack, and visuals, even with all the advances in special effects since then! its influence is everywhere!!

  • For me, Vangelis finest hour with this soundtrack. The main theme gives me goosebumps every time. Also one of my favourite films of all time.

  • I get them too as well. So amazing

  • @ArksunSound The irony is that Vangelis didn't want it released because he felt it wasn't good enough, which is why the version with the New America Symphony was released. Vangelis was convinced to release his version much later.

  • All we got is shitty wether lol

  • I LIKE !!!!!!!

  • I'd rather expect to be retired "accidentially" than riding the sky in my car :)

  • I expected to be driving one of those cars by now.

  • @deyoungparker

I believe that after the WW3 and the world come into almost extinction they will start building the world again...and if you are alive by then you will probably drive one...

  • @deyoungparker HAHA! thats funny = )

  • @deyoungparker yet our computers are muuuuch better.

  • @moonlightdriver800 LOL...totally. I love the clickety clack sounds the computer makes when it zooms in and out.

  • @deyoungparker Oh those guys are flying them, not driving.

  • @deyoungparker still have eight years to see those cars...

  • @MrAClawson LOL...that's true! Still holding out hope...

  • ugh dont embarass yourself

  • mega-cool! flying cars, robot owls, sunshine wallscreens...and many more! Give me a hard copy right there! lol

  • ENHANCE!

  • The best soundtrack!

  • Great film and great soundtrack. Thanks for posting!

  • In my opinion, this is Vangelis' best work (not that I listen to Vangelis on my iPod, but I loved the soundtrack to this movie. Chariots of Fire gets second place compared to this.

  • haha. Guys, go to 2:13 ish....then check out one of my videos. For an art class I flipped the image and sorta recreated it.

  • Hi, I'm Forest, and you're tuning in to another edition of Musical Starstreams.

  • I love listening to Musical Starstreams, good radio show!

  • This sound is a masterpiece of atmosphere and mastering in the past, now and in future!!! Awesome!!!

  • This is so cool ! would love to build a scale model of that city.

  • hypnotic video, Homejazz, thank you for sharing!

  • i used to go to Harrow on the Hill and watch London in the evenings - this reminds of that time.

  • I listen to this music when I am in the "light chamber" on "the craft"

  • Note to music video uploaders: exclude scenes that show characters talking, unless you include their audio. It just doesn't work otherwise.

  • Yeah, the lack of synch is a little distracting here,

  • Tangerine Dream and Vangelis - genius mastery in New Age music - Just a kid in the 80's but then and now so mystified by their musical prowess!!!!!!!

  • Spet ta co la re that's my comment ....one of the best movie of ever

  • Wouldn't it have been something if Ridley Scott had filmed Solaris? Neither of the films made do justice to that novel, although Tarkosvky's is the superior.

  • dont worry scott is gonna make Haldeman's Forever War:)

  • I think Blade Runner is the most successful artistic impression of a paleo-future world, ever attempted in the history of the cinema!

  • OMG ITS LIEK GREAT

    !

  • Hmm is that a Nostromo docking schematic I see at 2:07..? ;)

  • somewhat showing its age, but the cgi is impressive for a 1982 film

  • The air looks so polluted but I don't know why I like it.

  • oscar!
