  • I like him with moustache. Great song, great lyrics. Where did this kind of music go? Did it die? Did we kill it? Memories are all that is left, I guess.

  • The guy on the left looks much like Farron Young??

  • @MyHenryco Funny! I thought the very same thing!

  • i love country music but the doctors in tulsa are a differant thing i served with the 101st in vietnam and have seen men killed by rockets mortars and gunfire but the crulest thing i ever saw was bone by two doctors working in one of the largest hospitals in tulsa for more info please see [msbones1950 ]a slow death or a waiting grave

  • where are todays Marty's?

  • Mensen, ik heb altijd geloofd dat Felina was deels te

schuld voor deze hele tragedie. Immers, was ze flirten

met de knappe jonge vreemdeling. Marty duidelijk gehandeld in

zelfverdediging, volgens ooggetuigen op Roses Cantina

die nacht. En Marty heeft dus niet verdienen om neergeschoten door

een burgerwacht bende. Het was gewoon verkeerd

  • Reminds me of working at Opryland Themepark....this song played near the Grizzly River Rampage. Good stuff

  • Hi boyk99, their not Mike and bernie winters either!!

  • 'Gunfighter ballads' is still one of my favourite albums...and it's now on CD!

  • brilliant the best ...EVER!

  • always brings me back to my times when i could still see my fathers smiling face

  • CLASSIC

  • This really is an epic classic, a complete story in one song. People will be listening to, playing and singing this song a hundred years from now.

  • again, this dude is super cool!

  • Hey Mr.SimonGirty. Go get yourself busy occupied away from the Computer on You Tube here and Go suck a Big Cock!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ MrSimonGirty

This is about love. Hot women are restricted to no nationality!

  • **MrSimonGirty, Shut the F.Up**

What are you doing here listening than?

    Love Marty, and his talent~~~

  • @MrSimonGirty thats rich where do you think you got the country from .. it was stolen from the natives give it back and leave then you can take the moral high ground muppet

  • GREAT SONG, GREAT CITY.Its a big little city.

  • Agreed!

  • I'm sure that Marty, Don Winters & Bob Sykes always enjoyed themselves. Each always seemed to try to get the others to laugh during songs.

  • Used to live across the border from ELP. Great song, great town.

  • I listen to this 5 times a day there should be more than 100000 listing

  • GREAT __xxxxx

  • I am from Germany and had the opportunity to either go to Cincinnati, or El Paso. 'cause of M. R.'s song 'El Paso' I chose that city.

@joeasmythe dutch people loved the late Marty Robbins, as well as other country stars/music. Holland is a great small country, w. friendly, openminded people, a queen who is adored. U don't have to like their politics, ur not living there. They are a happy nation, and no this admin. won't copy them because one can't copy what one doesn't know anything about.

  • It's so nice to see the joy on those three faces as they sing this together.. I am so glad they had some good times and memories

  • what was his inspiration ?

  • a girl

  • -_-.....obviously

    i meant what "with details"

  • This song I will allways remenber!

I saw in an show, just a couple of months before he died Thank you so much!

  • Shelly. I'm a lot older than you, I remember both aspects of Marty, both as a singer and as a NASCAR driver.

He was a man who loved life!

  • This song was always my favourite when a kid in Scotland. Then when I discovered my mother had family in El Paso it made me determined to visit - something I did back in the 90's & I still love El Paso both as a song & as a great city!

  • PROUD TO BE FROM EL PASO!

  • I am a bit surprised he sang this in Holland. They are so secular progressive there, I don't think they appreciate country-western. I hope our country doesn't end up like them, this administration id leading us down the socialist path. Solid American citizens can stop them..............

  • Miss you sadly

  • I say Marty in Germany shortly before he passed with other greats in country music including Roy Orbison . I knew Marty back in Phoenix when he had his own shown. His voice was one of a kind and he loved and enjoyed performing all his comical gestures were a part of his routine. He was one of a kind, I use to sing my son to sleep at night with El Paso because I ran out of lulabys he still laughs today and loves the song at 25 years of age. He says daddy the old song were the best. I agree.

  • From EP, living in PA now... I miss W. Texas

  • eastern PA I agree.

western Pa you don't know us.

  • I cant tell but the one with the bird is not an orignial singer but I love this music

  • my song.... i love you jason

  • great song and singer

  • My favorite and he has a bunch of great ones! Sends me to the old west!

  • He's got the scoreboard from 'Family Fortunes' on stage behind him! ..We asked our survey 'Which dead country singer performed El paso in 1978'..hha

  • Finished reading Cormac McCarthy"s "All the Pretty Horses" The lead character in the book, "John Grady Cole" reminded me of this song and Marty Robbins.

  • Beautiful, what a voice and just love his smile, bet he was a fun guy to be around.R.I.P.Marty.Thank Heavens for recordings.appreciated.

  • classic

  • me and dad's favorite, may they both rest in peace.

  • hell yes.... grew up on this!

  • An American Classic

  • dead are boss, but not Marty.

  • The Grateful Dead is American music at its best. They played all forms of original American music. And they covered this song(El Paso) wonderfully.

  • Marty Robbins is genuine Good Ole USA.

The Rap is that we ARE COMMON FOLK.

    Hell no! We are American!!!

This is American music at it's best.

  • amen

  • im 20 and ive been listening to this since i was a toddler...fav song out there.

  • This is truely a great classic, I was rased on Merle Haggard and Marty Robbins got put in the mix somewhere so I love this song :)

(Quick Note, I am still a Teen and I love this Music, Whats with Rap? its takeing over in Teens. . . . . I cant be the Only that likes Oldys and classics can I?)

  • Perfect!

  • This is a Classic of Marty's that will live on,

  • reminds me of back in the day in juarez yikes lucky i didnt get shot viva le quebec les gals

  • It's actually Felina.

  • Hang on isn't the line " I see the white puff of smoke from a rifle, I feel a deep burning pain in my chest" in the wrong place ? shouldn't be straight after he says "off to my right i see a dozen or more" can anyone shed any light as to whther I am right or wrong.

  • it's correct as it's heard, I'm suprised to hear this is the full uncut version nice to hear it in its full content

  • np9np8np7: I think he gets hit twice. The first one hits him in the side, and he does not know he is hit until he feels the deep burning pain there. The second shot that hits him, the shot to his chest, does him in. I do not know if this answers your confusion about the placement of the lines or not.

  • Yes, it was a goof.

  • This takes me so far back I am going to have to ask my mum how old I was when I first listened to this, (it was my uncles) it is briilaint. As usual it is a woman who causes the trouble, that wicked wicked Belina.

  • GOOOOOD GOOOOOD GOOOOD!!!

  • What a wonderful live version. When I was 10 I used to listen to this song and cry my eyes out at the thought of the gallant cowboy riding into sure death for once glimpse of his love. 38 years later and all I can say is please don't let this song by playing if I'm out in public.

  • I can only think of one word to describe this song-TIMELESS!

  • boyfriend sings it just as good

  • Arguably, this classic is Marty's signature song, a song that in my mind is somewhere in the top 25 country and western songs of all time, and one further statement-this El Paso classic is the greatest cowboy song ever. Fleena( a long 8 or nine minute song by Marty tells the story in more detail. We used to gather Saturday nights in the good old Newfoundland short summer ,the boys would bring their guitars and their beer and do all these. Ah, the memories of the best days of my life.

  • its great to se his son on stage with him,but what hapened to the old guy?

  • It's Don Winters. I think Marty married Don's sister. See other videos of these(and bob sykes), all enjoying themselves. Don died in 2002(again, I think)

  • I love these marty robbins videos, can anyone tell me who the chap on the left is, he seems to be with marty a lot. they must have been good friends and by the look of the videos had lots of fun together.bod bless.

  • what an idiot that wrote that statement

  • I guess you're jealous you weren't his lover.

  • I talked to marty a few days before he died... I was writing a song that he said he would consider... what a great guy, singer and friend.

  • If Marty Didn't die in 1982 he would of lived in El Paso

  • What a great song - I've heard it hundreds and hundreds of times and I'll never get sick of it. So nice to see video from when singers actually knew how to use microphones too :-)

  • viva el paso God bless you marty robbins. a great song

  • great song. like the graphics behind him --- "Survey Says?!"

  • I said that! My family laughed at me =[

  • Marty Robbins now has a new fan thanks to youtube. We saw so little of him here in Australia.

  • Melegssore, I'm so glad you found Marty Robbins. He's such a treasure. There's great truth in his voice. I'm happy to hear that you are enjoying Marty Robbins. :)

  • God Bless Don Winters....He sang with Marty for several years!! He was a Great!

  • can U see how marty Robbins and that other guy keep laughing at each other there trying to crack each other up

  • awesome! Thank you so much for uploading this!

  • thanks cookie for this thank you so much. it is great to see marty sing later in his life especially as this is my favourite marty song. his voice was incredible

  • What a voice! El Paso loves you Marty!!

  • Marty and Don Winters sang this song together countless times together, as well as with Bobby Sykes before he retired, and they still couldn't get through it without cracking each other up. Thanks so much for posting this video!
