If it is "real" as the website claims, then I'm sure the creators would be happy to explain to everyone where the microphone placement was. It's amazing how you can get perfectly isolated sound on every bottle without seeing a single mic, nor hearing a single bit of ambient room tone, or anyone breathing, or anyone shifting in their seat. You gave yourselves away while explaining how you "tuned".

@chrisjacek First of all, please turn up the volume - plenty of ambient noises. Second of all, we used 6 mics: one regular mic up the front, one bass-specific mic up the front, two overhead mics to capture the couch players, and two very wide overhead mics to capture the back row. If you watch "Bowen Beer Bottle Band Blooper," you can not only hear the arrangement thin out as people giggle, but you can see the bass mic in the bottom of the frame.

Also, the explanation that they tuned "earlier in the day" is a clear giveaway. Evaporation require retuning by the minute.

@chrisjacek "Tuned earlier in the day" actually meant two hours before the event. And I'm not sure what kind of desert region you live in, but evaporation over that period of time is going to be pretty minimal. Also, PLEASE go and watch the "behind the scenes" video - at 0:28, you can see two of the band members double-checking the tuning of all of the bottles.
