I'm using a texturizer but just to have them straighten out without all the bad chemicals of the perm but I find it hard to care for my hair since everytime I think they're growing I find them looking all broken out... My hair as had some damages before (broken, split ends, parts shorter than other...) I stopped using perm, weaves and braids in hopes to see them grow longer... It has been since march 2011. Any tips?
this was pretty wack. what does shampoo have to do with transitioning period? no one needs shampoo to transition and shine is not gonna be apparent on natural hair if they have a tight curl pattern. and it was really scripted and fake.
i doubt it. many transitioners and fully naturals go forever without a shampoo. shampoos can be homemade naturally using baking soda or apple cider vinegar to clarify buildup out of the hair.
shampoo is far from necessary and should never be relied on to give hair shine or body. that's what conditioner is for.
nope not really. no one needs shampoo but if they choose to they have those alternatives. they don't need to go out and spend money on shampoos. they especially dont need to use them everyday. if people use shampoos its only once a month so its stupid to spend money on shampoos for natural hair shes trying to sell that are ridiculous in price. shampoo isn't a necessity at all for any hair relaxed or natural.
to get rid of product buildup if you use products that contains silicones that leave build up. Most "natural haired" people use conditioner to wash every single day to clean the scalp because rinse out conditioners also contain detergents to cleans the hair shaft and scalp.
people who do not cowash do use shampoo but that isn't really common
Your suppose to shampoo at least one or twice a week depending on your hair type. Washing hair once a month is just disgusting. My hair would probably fall out if I washed my hair once a month.
yeah. depends on what products you use. if you use alot of gels and leave-in non natural conditioners then yeah its horrible to shampoo only once a month. but african natural hair, you can rinse everyday and wash with conditioner but as far as shampoo, if you don't use products that cause buildup, then you don't need it as often. i wash every day but i only use shampoo nowadays every 2 weeks.
