Because there is a high probability of more open cave on the other side of the secondary fill in this passage.

Only 10 more feet, right? lol Have they done seismic surveying to determine exactly where the voids may be?
I've rumor that something to that effect has been done, but that could just be a story to keep us going...and yes...it is always just about another 10 more feet to go...good guess. ;-)
