@V6MattGW Well, you'll want your own ball if you bowl as much as these guys. Without the right fit, you'll develop some sort of pain to be sure. Whether it is tendinitis, blisters, chunks of flesh missing from your thumb, it will happen. Also, you'll want to learn to throw a curve as well. You just can't average high enough on the higher scoring conditions throwing it straight, you might be able to squeak out a good performance at a low scoring event though.
@gamemeister27 agree 100% on the pain factor, it often does hurt! However, consistency is never an issue.. How much would a very good ball set me back?
@V6MattGW Well a plastic ball to throw straight would only run you about 50-100 bucks depending on how cool you want it to look. A ball to learn a hook with is a different story though. An entry level reactive ball can be about 150 dollars or so, a high end reactive ball (lots of hook potential) can go to 250 or sometimes (though rarely) more.

So how do I become a pro bowler? I very rarely get less than 200 and I don't spin the balls or even use my own balls.
