He is truly a rookie. It takes him 10 whole seconds (1:20 - 1:29) before he finally is able to see the reflective imprint on the back of the book. Try it yourself. Put a post it on the back of any reflective cover book and write a word on the post it. If you move the book around in just the right light (takes some practice...this guy needs more of) you'll easily be able to see the word.
@LightHeartedMusician i think when the spectator writes it down because of the pressure it goes beyond the paper to the book which makes it easy to feel so when the mgaician tells the spectator he couldve stopped anywhere he feels the place the spectator wrote the word on so he knows it
I've been replaying this video half a dozen times and I still don't see how he does it. Does it have anything to do with the magician looking into the spectators reflection when he looks at what he's written down? I know that's pretty far fetched but you have you use your imagination when trying to figure these things out... Can anybody tell me how it works??
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Thank you for revealing the secret with your shitty handling at 1:13! LOL Seriously! Thanks for saving me money :) Haha no point in revealing here because the shop owners and other magicians will just lie and say the method's wrong! So just pm me if you really want the method. Magician's rule still applys though; I will reveal only to other magicians.
All you guys, this is not impromptu and the marker doesn't bleed through the back (it can be done with a pen). I own this trick and it cost me only $20 (American). It is by far the best book test I have ever seen, and I would have paid hundreds for it. The gimmick is very easy to be used, and it can be used with any book over and over again. nhv57 is wrong about the method and there is no special paper you can buy.
The paper has a light carbon or something similar. When the word is written, it's lightly transferred to the back of the book, so the magician can read it.
Notice that the magician simply says the word, he doesn't search into the book where the word is.
You guys check out my channel!

I agree with mgshn, I'm sorry but the method in this video is really easy to see.

Too funny... there are a couple things in the video that tip the method.

where can i get the paper?
jwilson19294 3 years ago
That isn't the trick. You can use any book you want, you don't use a book that comes with the trick.

Whoops, I thought you meant something else. Forget that.

nhv57, i are right with your answer, it was so badly done in this vid.
