Good questions, but knowing about just these things limits what qualifies as necessary to our understanding of the paranormal.
I understand that your questions are a sampling of what people should be aware of, but I honestly don't believe we can quantify intelligence in a field of research that is largely dominated by belief systems and especiallly the philisophical component.
Its great to be aware of various opinions, but I find that most people are easily threatened by opposing ideas.
Here's a more valid test: give 'paranormal investigators' a list of concepts that has to do with the philosophy of science such as - Falsifiability, Occam's Razor, Null Hypothesis, etc - and see how well they understand them.
You know, I really agree with the answer to 10, I went to check out a haunted lake last month, I snapped some photo's leaving my camera with flash on, and when I reviewed the footage, I found in certian area's there were orbs, after I zoomed in on one orb to look, I found a second small one right beside at 5x zoom.
I totally failed, didn't do very well never really studied much on ghost sfuff. Maybe it's why I've never seen a ghost even when my office for a year was conversion from a morgue and yes once a month I stayed there through out the night with only the light from my computer to monitor equipment on generator test night. There where no ghosts! none, zero, nada, nothing. I'm so bummed! I want to see a ghost so bad! I even worked out of an old morgue! and nothing!
I don't think it's accurate to call this an "IQ Test". It seems mostly to be a test of one's knowledge of facts associated with paranormal research. A paranormal researcher needs to know how to use the tools they've chosen to conduct their research, but since no one has a theory that withstands scientific method, knowing what "matrixing" means just makes one researcher appear more qualified than the next. Kinda like a car salesman knowing what TPMS means, but having no clue how it works.
I wrote down A for # 4, but put (C) beside it, since I knew the TECHNICAL term was C, but the COMMON term was A due to the Reality TV shows... give myself 1/2 point for that... for a grand total of 9.5! Woo Hoo!
I got four right, but I haven't even heard of... let's see.. like almost ALL of these. How sad. xD I do watch reality TV, but just for entertainment. It's not like I get all my knowledge from that stuff.
I got 6 right and I've been reading up on the paranormal for 15 years. Were talking everything from the Fox sisters(As presented here) to the Bell Witch case. Just goes to show you that there is always something new to learn and that learning in paranormal research NEVER ends. It only begins.
I got 5 right, but only 1 from actually knowing the answer. Another was process of elimination (I knew the other 3 options weren't right), and 3 were lucky guesses.
Could some explain the question about the shapes? Any one of those could "not fit" the others, depending what criteria you establish for 'fitting'
This was a very interesting and knowledgeable test. I learned quite a bit. It is strange to think that many people that watch TV are being pre-programmed with bits and believing that it is the whole story. This test proves otherwise. Thanks Patrick
I truly hope this quiz does do a little to inspire the folks who think "paranormal research" is confined to watching an hour of a docu-soap Wednesdays at 9pm on SyFy. As Patrick said, the paranormal is SO much more interesting than anything that can be shown on television. Do yourself a great favor and read about its history. You'll appreciate our fun little community so much more!
Not a PhD. in the lot!

Once again, excellent video. Give this test to some of the biggest names on TV today and I wonder how many of them would pass?
Now this guy should be teaching, not people who fumble around, using equipment they don't fully understand.
It is sad when considering the effect TV is having. It almost insures nobody is going to take any of this seriously :(

w00t! 10 out of 10! Though I'll admit, I guessed on the Fortean question.. I wasn't 100% sure between two possible answers.
I agree, this was much less of a paranormal "IQ" test and mostly a history test. I enjoyed the technical questions, more like that please!

TeslasRadio- The symbols are from a deck of cards commonly used during the 60/70's to test ESP in subjects.

Those shapes were developed by Rhine for ESP testing.. except one of them, which isn't used in the classic ESP cards.
