@Quindal I have been looking for work for months. There are no jobs, not jobs at all that I want to do!! Now, I am in danger of losing my unemployment check if Congress does not extend my benefits. I could lose my house, and even with subsidized heating bill, and food stamps, I still can hardly make ends meet!! Black unemployment stands at 17%, and white unemployment is only 7%!! Visit any unemployment offices, and you will see about 80% Blacks!!!! Minorities need help!!!!

He explained that if the factory workers make more money they could actually afford the cars they were making. Of course, being business men, they couldn't look further than 4 months ahead, and refused.

Only then do many realize a time like this when they wore shiny suits holding off on someone who couldn't breathe at the I.C.U. Then, they'd see how evil it was to have left this room and headed for a nice restaurant while they stone-walled. As I see it the real ? is: do you believe that we (US citizens) have a responsibility to each other to ensure that each of us have health insurance OR do you believe that certain groups of people are expendable? If you believe the former, then you know that starting over is NOT an option. You also know that doing nothing is NOT an option. People are hurting. People are sick. People need help. When the poll is put to the progressives, they hate the bill because there is no public option. When the poll is put to the right wingers, they hate it because they want Obama to fail. Therefore the polling #s are horrendous.
Thats what happens when you water down a bill to appease the republihaters, they still hate it, and you lose support from the left.

Firstly, it's hypocrisy, the democrats and the lemmings all hated bush and wanted bush to fail; was he trying to create a fascist dictatorship? oh wait no, he was going to war to protect the citizens, funny how you dems only care about the citizens when it gives you a reason to balloon govt

I am a republican. After seeing this debate, I see that the Republican leadership is not trying to help the American people be insured. As a republican, I am going to vote for Obama in the next election and a democrate in the next congress elections.
I am ashamed with the republican leadership that puts insrance companies before the American people. Shame on them.

I am a republican too. I have heard much BS about Obama and the Democrats from extremist in our party.I am conflicted about the Republican party but extremist are in the Democratic party too. In the fall election mostly I will vote Democrat,( better candidates) . My view is changing about our President.I mostly like where he is leading us. If he can get results I think I will vote for him in 2012. I did not vote for him in 2008.

Thats what they said about child labor laws, social security, minimum wage, the 40 hour work week, etc etc.
The fact is they can pass laws to "promote the general welfare" of the people.
Access to health insurance/care falls within that phrase.
Otherwise, the republitards would just throw up their hands and say it's unconstitutional and call it a day...nuff said...but they don't, because it isn't.

@Blasphemer2 Wow, I'm a Liberal and I've always been told the Republicans didn't have any ideas when it came to Health Care. They had plenty of ideas but I never heard their side until now. I may have to rethink this.
