Great job! I can tell you were a little nervous, but when you seemed to relax a little this beautiful, bright tone came out!:) I just uploaded a cover of this, and if you would check it out that would just make my day!
i am singing this song in a voice recital in about a week and i can tell you that it is not easy. i do not enjoy having to go from an E flat to an A flat 3 times in a row but if you can learn to concour this song it makes a great audition piece and many are impressed with it. A trick you can try to make your high notes stronger is to not envision them as high notes and not to try to stretch up there but to try to make it float out of the top of your head. I have been singing opera for 4 years:)
Wonderful. :-) I can tell your heart is in it. <3 I hope that if you plan on making a career out of this that you will be SO successful. :-) I think I am going to use an Oklahoma song for my next tryout. :-) Once again- keep it up!
I like People Will Say We're In Love A LOT more than this one actually. I feel more connected to it. Haha. And it's a bit easier to sing in my opinion. Do you have any videos of you singing up? I'll comment on them for you if you would like.
@celticwarrior1825 I do not have any videos of me singing up yet, but I will hopefully soon. :-) I realized afterwards that it is wrong ediquette to audition with a duet, but oh well. Live and learn. I still like the song. I want to learn this one, though, too! I subbed you! :-D
You have a lot of potential, for sure. You need to work on breath control which is the biggest thing singers do wrong. Breath from your stomach, not your chest, and keep your support with your ribs. If your ribs hurt after working them out, you're doing it right. Just be careful! It makes a world of difference.
I love this song, I'm doing it for the NYSSMA competition and am planning on making a vid of me singing it too ^^ I love your voice, something that really helps in singing is to open the back of your throat and to pronouce the words, like instead of singing "Dreeeeems" sing "Drehms" (like you're yawning) It makes the song sound even better~great job! XD
Get a better vocal coach dear. And get your money back. You have a pretty voice, but the song was horribly off. A better vocal teacher will help you with that.
You have a wonderful voice and a great look! Looks like you were a little less focused than you could have been. I would love to hear you sing something you really liked!
You're a little wobbly... But you do have a a ok voice, and this song is not easy, so maybe you should try a different one. I'm singing this currently in singing class, and I must admit it isn't easy!
Well, as the saying goes "Practice makes perfect" (even though I rather hate that saying....). But seriously, the more you practice it, the better it will sound on you voice.
Yeah I do know what you mean. All the ups and downs and skips. It just goes and there is pretty much no pattern to follow about them to make it easier.
I Pretty much agree with the others. You have a pretty nice voice but this song just isn't the one for you. We are currently working on the Musical 'Oklahoma' in my Musical Theatre classes and we were all given a different song and I was given this one. I'm a little nerveous about performing it because much like you, i have a nice voice, but, I can't sing "Opera-Like." Anyways, good job though and wish me luck on MY performance.
Don't worry. I'm sure that you'll do amazingly well.
And in all honesty, this song is not opera-like at all. It is Broadway (which my voice still is not. Lol). If you've ever seen the musical, you'll see that Laurie has a big voice, yes, but not operatic. And besides, she's a professional and fully trained.
Anyways my point is that I'm positive that you'll do great.Just sing with confidence and do your best. ^_^ You really don't need an operatic voice to sing this.
I don't know. I mean, honestly, i'm only a thirteen year old girl. Even though, my voice hasn't fully developed yet, i'm still... i don't know... i'm just worried i'm gonna' sound awful. :( Anyways, yes, I HAVE seen the musical! My voice isn't at all the voice that's "required" for this song. So, like you, I clearly do NOT have a broadway-ready voice.... YET! (LOL) I'm workin' on it, though! Well, thanks for the confidence in my performance! *sigh* Thanks Again!
Meh. It's ok. Just because you're 13 doesn't mean anything. ^_^ You'll be amazing!!
Don't ever doubt yourself and even if you aren't perfect singing this song. Who cares?? The fact that you preform with your whole heart is good enough. And besides if you really did suck at this song, you wouldn't be preforming it!!
I don't think its that bad! I don't think its the song to suit your voice because this song is heavily operatic and your voice isn't. You've got a good voice but this isn't the song for you so try singing something different :) x
i'm singing this in my vocal classes

nice job for being nervous!
maybe try thinking about the words while you're singing ... you seem a mile away from the meaning of this beautiful song

Do you like this song? It's eh-eh when I sing it. I will definitley need luck. Thanks!
I understand it why anyone would find it hard! There's no pattern, if you know what I mean.

I don't like it either, but what can I do?? My friend missed the concert. Lol.
Coincidentally, my voice teacher and I are working on just that right now.
Thanks for the comment.

It sounds much better in person. But meh.
