Thanks for the guide. That's pretty cheeky of Asus - ship it with inadequate RAM, then make it so most people will totally break it trying to do a simple upgrade. I guess that must save a bundle on warranty support!

very helpful thank you - the rubber cover broke on mine also but don't think it's necessary anyway. It helped that he said not to be afraid to bend it a little as mine was really stuck on there and felt like I almost had to break it to get it off- but it didn't break. The rest was easy!

lol. The same thing happened to me. If you take a closer look you will se that he broke a little part of the case. Check the second chip from the left right after he open the case.
