Gauleiter Erich Koch was rightly humiliated by Poles by incarcerating him in Poland for 36 years lol! He was one of the richest Nazi German freaks by robbing Poles, Jews and Russians. He had 2 mln marks in gold. He possessed lots of tenement buildings, two newspaper companies, grand properties near Królewiec and Ciechanów. He also had shares in the biggest Białystok's textile firms. He was just a robber like all Nazis!

convicted in the Polish court, sentenced to death in May 1959, for killing 400,000- Poles. This mass murderer&criminal spent rest of his life rottening in the Polish prison in Barczewo.

He was respnsible for murders and deportation of 1.5 Poles from Polish lands plundered by Germany, among them my mother and her family . He avoided being tried for other crimes.

As far as Koch, I don't know much about him, but probably more than you.

I don't speak German, therefore don't know what he said in his late interview.

Crucial should be whether he expressed a remorse and understanding to his crime.

In his favour are his leanings toward Christianity,even in the twisted form.

Erich Koch as Reichs Kommisar in the occupied Ukrain, he was responsible for a wave of terror. He felt a deep heatred to the local people, who first welcomed the invading Nazi army as liberators of Stalins dictatorship. As a strict follower of Hitlers racist idears he wanted to whipe out the Ukrain people and the jews, in a way that even some fellow Nazi find shocking. And as Gauleiter in Koningsberg he made himself also verry inpopular among his fellow Germans.
