@Dreaded88 it's impossible, the "boys" rifle was a drop-loaded magazine feed type rifle (similar to the types used by M.S. machine guns in U.C. 0083) unless they could make a mirror-loaded scope(which i still doubt they could even make one)that can reflect the image of the target to the side sight accurately AND STILL can zoom in,if one those even existed then AND now, they would have made drop-loaded bullpup assault rifles like the ones the Ginns from the gundam seed series used, right?
The Muzzles Recoil Reducer, need about four-more baffles, or flutes, to take back more of the recoil from off the shoulder. It also needed to have an extender piece on the muzzle end to adapt to fire Rifle Grenades. It also needed to have a Scope Mount, and a 10x scope! Forget that 300 yard only! This would've been the greatest Sniper Rifle of the Allies of WWII!
Yeah, it was the best thing a soldier could have, mainly because man portable anti-tank weapons weren't very advanced at the time.
Of course, if everything else failed, climbing on top of the tank and chucking a few grenades into the turret, or sticking an SMG in the vision blocks and spraying it around certainly worked too.
PTRS, actually, the semi-auto version of the PTRD. It was really the first high-powered sniper system, the predecessor of the .50 caliber sniper rifles we use today.
A product of it's time. However, having spoken to those with practical experience of the Boys - it had immense recoil, and you had to be bloody close to penetrate even Panzer Mk 11s
According to it's wiki page, they made this film because everyone knew they would die if they had to battle a tank with it by 1942.

crappy weapon. Heavy to carry and the recoil was great and many men had dislocated shoulder. Much more efficient were the bazookas and panzershreks

They'd have been better off putting as large a scope as possible on this monster, and using it as a sniper rifle!

Somehow, I'm thinking that if they ever made a WWII version of Metal Gear Solid, this weapon's definitely going to be in it.
