@Imarco93 Just to note, tafsir is like commentary or interpretation of the Qur'an by Imams, then there are the Hadith which are supposed to be examples of how The Prophet lived, The Hadith for Sunnis are the Sunnah, which are other documents believed to talk about how the Prophet lived Islam.

@BeNiTr0W yes, I know what you mean , I live in venezuela where the vast majority are christian catholics, and here people are super sinners xD, they drink , have sex, and all those sinful stuff, and they don't even know that is sin, I am more into buddhism, but I almost converted to islam, and I didn't because all those rules including this one , scared the shit out of me xD
I can't see anything bad with a girlfriend or music or have a peaceful drink with friends xd

but I didn't because these rules were really harsh
Alcohol is bad, but is bad if you go on extreme drinking, and destroy families
but not all peole is like that, because of a couple of beers there's a balance between going extreme and doing nothing at all
like the middle way
I like to do good because is the right thing to do, not because I'm scared of hell

if u want to drink beer u can do it but it's a sin and that sin is not going to throw u in hell .... just like music .... convert to islam and drink what ever you want... a muslim who drinks in in his life will not drink in janah (paradise)

@vShooterxX I would love if it could be that easy, but everytime I read my quran, is great until I read verses that are always threatening with hell and suffering if you sin...
I mean , I'm in agree that killing someone is really horrible, and that stealing is an atrocity, don't get me wrong.
but there are rules that say I can't shave , common xD
like music, is really horrible that even great music by mozart could be sinful
that really scares me, like a nightmare, is like islam is not for me.

, and u must pray 5 times everyday,, and do ur zakah (help poor families with a little amount of money once every year) ,,and fasting (one month every year) ,,and Hajj ""pilgrimage"" (once in lifetime),,and u can deal with the other things Later ,, btw i shave ..but there is nothing wrong with a beard (: ,, if u are too scary of the sins u can read this verse in your quran 4:48

but even if you took that verse 4:48 , there are people that say that little sins like those build one major sin,
so if I don't repent and stop listening to music, and instead keep doing it, I will be a bad muslim...

"A prostitute was forgiven by Allah, because, passing by a panting dog near a well and seeing that the dog was about to die of thirst, she took off her shoe, and tying it with her head-cover she drew out some water for it. So, Allah forgave her because of that."
