This episode is very much like a first season episode in atmosphere. It's more of a spooky ghost story than it is science fiction, but that's what Outer Limits was half of the time anyway.
Originally aired on November 7, 1964. I've seen an original 16mm ABC network print of this episode with the commercials and bumpers not seen in syndication....
Yes it is , the other guy the professor PATRICK O NEIL did commercials for WPAT I won a cup from WPAT , peter haskell was in cop shows and big valley episodes .
Interesting to note that the title of this episode is also used in Star Trek when Picard attacks the earth fleet as Lucutis of Borg...at no other than...Wolf 359...and is again referenced in the first episode of Deep Space 9...never heard of this episode and am tickled to learnof the origin of the name used in Star Trek....Thanks for the upload, very cool stuff...peace man
Wolf 359 is only 7.7 Light Years from Earth. Its one of the closest stars to the Sol System other than Alpha Centauri at a little under 4.4 and Bernards Star at 6. So its a viable planet for Sci-Fi authors and its close proximity in ST:TNG tells you how close the Borg were.
Thank you for that bit of info...I thought it was a made up place and not a real star system...I appreciate you taking the time to educate me...peace be with good brother.
I keep noticing the stark contrast between the sophistication of the social ideas that OL dealt with and the poor make-up jobs and puppeteering of the non-human characters.
This was made back in the 60s for TV and was under varying budgetary and time limits throughout. For their time though the effects were pretty darn good compared to anything else out there. And the makeup effects developed here would later be used in other series like Star Trek.
One of my favorite episodes! Love that ghost alien! haha

A very thoughtful episode in all of 1960's ABC-TV The Outer Limits.
Scottish Ghosts in Scottish Castles have come back to haunt us all in the 21st Century.
For now,an episode still holding it's own for the next 2 years.

This is a fantastic episode.
I keep noticing the stark contrast between the sophistication of the social ideas that OL dealt with and the poor make-up jobs and puppeteering of the non-human characters.
Any ideas why that might have been?
