All these "friendly squirrel" videos have humans feeding squirrels. When I see a video with a SQUIRREL feeding a HUMAN....thats a friendly squirrel!!
Smart squirrel is smart. While the other ones need to search hours for some food, this one's just nice to humans and gets free stuff for the whole day. These are the ones that reproduce, haha! Watch out for them squirrels!
My grandpop used to sit in his back yard and hold peanuts or something in his hands, his arms outstretched. He'd sit perfectly still and the squirrels would crawl all over him, haha. It was quite a sight.
Sadly, in this sick world being kind to wild animals and feeding them like this will likely get them killed. Once they assoaciate humans with food eventually they are going to trust in somebody they shouldn't and some twisted individual is going to hurt it.
I Love This Vid. Every Shot Of It. The Part Where It Starts To Go Flat On It's Belly Like A Ninja. Then The Real Up Close Shot Of It's Little Mini Mouth Munching On And The Little Hands!
@Zarrakan he dont got thrust in humans he just know where he gets food from,...
of course i like the vid and that squirrel but such world you and me would like to have wont exist, there are still people who shoot animals for fun, and 99% of all humans who eat meat, change that 99 to 1% and you may got a chance for your illusion world ^^
There's a friendly squirrel like that around the apartments I live in in WA. It sometimes follows me, though I worried it might try to bite me or something, so I didn't let it get too close.
I'm gonna try getting it close to me like the one in this video though, now that I know squirrel friendliness doesn't automatically mean rabies. xD
Yea, you really should not feed them by hand. They don't see well looking in front and can mistake a finger for food. They do carry diseases, although Rabies, which is the biggest misconception about them, is not a disease they carry. I feed several Fox squirrels in the backyard. They are fun to watch, but I either throw the food at their feet or feed them with one of those cooking tongs you use for turning chicken in a pan. Wonderful creatures and very smart.
My college has some pretty friendly squirrels too (Virginia Beach). They're still somewhat shy, but they do not run away unless you get pretty close. I haven't tried feeding any yet, and I'm curious to see how close they get.
The squirrels in Washington DC are crazy though! They will eat right out of the palm of your hand!
I think that squirrel is still here at the U of I. When I was registering earlier this year, I saw a little squirrel coming up to a man sitting across from me like that...he got some peanuts. LOL
Thanks for the memories! As a University of Illinois, Urbana graduate I remember sitting on those same uncomfortable cement benches with same friendly squirrels around. They liked it cause we would come out of the student union with food, lol.
Wow! This video took me on a memory trip! I attended the University of Illinois in Urbana and I can remember sitting on those same (uncomfortable) cement benches. The squirrels acted the same way then too. Thanks!
You can see that the squirrel is vary and alert even when so used to humans as it tries to make itself look bigger by pressing its tail against its back.
It gets food from humans and still don't trust them, smart lil' bugger :D
You may be stupid enough to fail in English so just to clarify my comment:
I commended the squirrel for having brains and balls.
And now to the fun part! Word you fail at is Prison. And if I was in prison, I would trust in the one who feeds me more than I would trust in the one that tries to steal my food.
And FYI; sentence begins with a capital. Enough of prison pun for you?
And proper syntax there is "You must enjoy teaching English to kids"
Doesn't hurt to put some effort in to your replies you know. Takes about a second longer and sparks up a few more braincells which just serves to prevent Alzheimer's disease when you get old.
