nice video, thank you for taking time out to show us a thing or two , i really appreciate that :) question ,, is this a place anyone can pan or is it claimed?im a lil confuzzled about the whole fraser river thing and where its legal to pan . thanks again :)
@TheThefugitive , Okay that perticular spot I have a claim on, but I let pretty much anyone go panning there, it's all mainly fine gold, and only really decent at extreme low water, which is during march to mid april, , there are a number of recreational panning reserves scattered around the province, if you go to ( thegoldprospectorsforum.ca ) copy and paste in your search box, got pretty much all the information there, it's a new forum I started Dec 31, 2011
@GreywolfMiner thank you :) i hav a list of them but will add that forum for sure :) my son and i did some panning/ dog walking on the vedder river yesterday . absolutely nothing LOL but when i have more gas ill get up to the kootenays and dig in to that wild horse creek public spot . very kind of you to allow other panners in your claim .
@mikesmegabits It's actually just under $100US at that price. Nice video G_W, I would have liked to see the grizzly and seperation setup but I guess it's kinda hard to pack all that into a video. So if I have one question it should be "how do you pick your spot on that alluvial fan?"
Just curious.. It seems a lot of material goes off the back of the washer/classifier... Do you watch for larger pickers? Seems a LOT goes back to the ground right off the bat?
@mikesmegabits Actually mike, most of the heavy mneral get washed through the grizzly right of the start, guess ya gotta try it to understand the processes..
@MrMrtiki Well if you're in the neighbourhood, feel free to stop down and do some panning, mainly fines, but ya never know, you might find a picker or two...
@GreywolfMiner I used to drive transport thru the frasure and seen many areas that showed black sand you know where the giant rock is in the river at 30km corner north end low hwy. by devils elbow I climbed down there on a low water and behind that big rock I found some nice color but it`s so hard to get to it .
@GreywolfMiner Now you got me wondering this bridge in vid is accross river in Bost.Bar right I recall the train tracks slide cap it has been a few years since I been there .
Recovery for the first time ever, someone worked on the "Ice" to see if the loose gravel got gold in it. Yes Do to you three that answer is here. You made History at this time. Working the loose gravel on " Ice " is very new and Dangerous, but you pulled it off. And I do like Grizzly taking the loose gravel in to a 5gal bucket so you can move it to do the Restoration. Are you sure you are not a redneck LOL...
Hey guys it was a nice break, did get to scout out some fine bedrock begging to be cleaned up as well, course in a couple of weeks the whole place is going to be under water
Damm you Grey! Im jealous! ;) You got spring and material to work with, and with a great highbanker to! It´s still allot of snow over here and i can´t wait any longer soon! Lol! Thank´s for a great video and that is what i lower my "fever" with.. ;) Thanks!
