To all whom justify genocide of Palestinians, the check points, the racist wall, the destruction of Palestinian houses, the expansion of settlements on Palestinian lands, and the racist treatment of the Palestinian population because the Palestinians are terrorist, you failed to treat the root cause of this conflict that is stealing more than 70% of the Palestinian lands in 1948. History never lies. Stop the Occupation. Apologize for the Palestinians and give them back their lands and rights.
There are walls in Ireland, England (granted it's pretty dang old), China, etc etc etc. But when Jews build a wall that has been proven to be effective in stopping us from getting killed & suddenly the world is outraged ?! The word hypocrite springs tyo mind. We are not good neighbors & we need good fences. Sorry we won't be killed to appease your PC sensibilities :(
@TheEnkiTruth Plenty of Jews are native to the land. But that doesn't stop the Arabs from killing us like in Hebron in 1929. Nor are most people calling themselves "Palestinian" actually native. The Arab population well more than doubled after 1917 due to British work projects. They hadn't been here 30 years in 48 yet consider themselves "natives" & displaces. Horse sh!t ...
@TheEnkiTruth There is another factor which is that circa 1948 about a million Jews were literally expelled from Muslem lands (those that weren't hung in public as in Iraq). So Muslems can expell Jews who have lived in these countries for generations but som Muslems get displaced & you're still bitchin 63 years later. Pathetic, hypocritical, & eletist all rolled up in 1.
@yone71 if this was true, the wall would not enter the west bank. Unfortunately it goes very deep beyond the green line. Abu dis is an arab community near Jerusalem, but there is a wall going straight through it. Arabs on both sides. Does this explain that? Also, it is very possible to get through the wall, it is far from complete. It just takes you hours and hours to do it. If it was about security, it would have been complete. This all points to the wall being more about grabbing land.
@bwest578 "Green Line" is an aritarary border with no basis on the reality on the ground or security. It cuts Israel in half with Arabs within sniper distance of Ben Gurion airport. It's never going to look like 67 again. Arab attacks ensure that. UN charter 242 doesn't call on Israel to return all land to the 67 border abnyway (not that we pay that Muslem bully pulpit much mind). As for security .. all numbers indicate that it's working. It's being completed, give us time.
@yone71 In the short-run, the wall protects against terrorist attacks but the wall may actually be Israel's downfall in the long-run because it violates peoples' civil rights and puts a huge strain on the West Bank's economy and that will encourage terrorism. The wall needs to come down in a reasonable amount of time but the best idea I can come up with is to move Palestinian families into Israeli settlements so that they can become cultural melting pots which also melt differences.
@Superaverage38 1st off the wall goes into the West Bank very minimally. 2nd, the 67 borders are utter non-sense. They are a random armistice line which Muslem forces have repeatedly violated. So spare us the "civil rights" speach since it applies exactly zero in the Muslem world. The WB's economy is as it is on purpose. The Pali leadership gains by keeping it's own people down. Asking Israel to take responsibility for the fact that the Pali leadership cares zero for its own is ridiculous.
@yone71 I'm not sure if you realize this but that security fence puts a lot of strain on the OPT's economy as well and when economies are strained: people grow restless (blockades, embargoes on building materials, checkpoints, restrictions on freedom of movement, sewage treatment plants that need to but can't be repaired because of said embargoes would do that too).
@yone71 So if we give the wall time: things will either get peaceful because people will be dropping like flies from starvation and cholera OR they will not get peaceful because those people will not stand for it.
Cowering behind walls will not make the problem go away.
@Superaverage38 As for moving Palis into Israeli settlements, not gonna happen. Why not move Jews into Palis cities ?! Because the Palis would kill them. The reason for these "settlements" looking like Ft Apache is Muslem violence. Putting the burden of this on Israel is infantilizing the Arab population. The differences won't melt so long as Islam sways it's violent control .. Hamas is open about this fact.
@yone71 It'd be easier to move Palestinians into Israeli settlements (It will be seen as a goodwill gesture) than the other way around (That will be seen as colonial expansionism). Your fear that the Palestinians who would move into those settlements would kill everyone is irrational, of course they wouldn't be people who were homicidal because most of the citizens of the OPT are not.
when a man with a beard kills innocent people, terrorism, islam/muslim,
when soldiers kill innocent people, casulty, ignored, doesn't matter, for your safety
