Yah a litl like st germain but realy in there own stile.
Yes this is jazz, I would call it New Fusion. "Says an educated jazz mucisian", it's still my opinion thoug. I myseelf rather play instruments. But realy these guys are too! Aplause
absolutely amazing. this is what the future of the art form has in store. between these guys, c2c, scratch science, etc, the french have an entire stable of forward thinking turntablists coming out of that country.
take that and consider the bugged out styles of whats going on on the west coast of the united states with guys like ricci rucker, mike boo, etc, things look very good for the future of things to come.
@703mofo I couldn't agree with you more. It almost seems as if they have a greater appreciation for the art of turntablism that we seem to have lost here in the states. In my home state of Louisiana, however, the movement has been sort of resurrected from the days that I and most of my relatives were cuttin' and mixin' at our local radio station 94.3 KTRY in the mid-late 80's and early 90's with the inception of a group of DJ's called the GO-DJ's.
I would not go so far as to say that a turntable is a "True or Traditional Instrument"....but anyone who says it cant be played like one is out of their mind.
These katz are very creative and definitly help take turtablism to the next level of musicianship.
check out the original Jazz it at home song (non live version)
it has a killer cut up scratched drum and bass beat.
this version is so cool cause it shows how they make the song. each of the 4 turntabalists scratch a different part of the song. like one is doing the sax and the others symth.
insane and genius.
they are playing on saturday in London in Cargo.
i walked around london tonight and put this song on repeat for ever. so should you!
This is pure class!
