For both NYPD and FDNY, how do they determine which units get new LED lights and stuff? I always wondered that... I like the LED's just the old bulbs are fun to look at how old they look
@kingnitroluna62897 WRONG! That van is NOT ESU.... It is just a transportation van because of all the foot patrol units. Don't let criminal justice rule you, totally wrong.
@LCSPInvestigations actually you are double wrong.. It is an Emergency Services Unit van, it says so right on rear quarter panel (ESU). There are regular patrol vans similar in make and model, but his one in particular belongs to the Canine Unit (K-9).
NYPD is probably the largest police force in America, A different Variety of vehicles and tons of officers. Unlike many stations around the 50 states.
@egor2112 Do you know all the parkways and highways in and around NYC? I-278,I-678,I-495,I-395,1-95,I-87,and more.I'm guessing you're thinking too much about Manhattan.
@gregg53186 the original purchase of NYPD chargers back in 2006 called for 35 cars 15 were V6s that went to PCTs for use as sector cars and the rest had the hemis and went to highway. the charger sector cars didnt last long in service.
On 9/11 vehicles responded pretty quickly but nyc has too much traffic to respond even above 35mph there. They have to really drive slow and cautious a lot to avoid accidents. Now, where I live in Philly police seem to drive like it's NFS but most of the time they do get there safely. I've witnessed them drive really fast even during the rush hours they push it and squeeze through the tightest lanes or spaces and even take the sidewalk. However, in downtown Philly they drive a lot more slower.
No it wasnt, city police vehicles dont use V8 vehicles. gas is too expensive they dont need to exceed high speeds if there in the city. city vehicles, ANY city, their police use V6 models. HIGHWAYS use V8s
Nice vid! Was hoping to see one of those Hybrid Altimas or Fusions in there.

Whats on the car just behind the light car?
CrackBerryTorch 5 months ago
@CashMoneyBelieeDAT It's reasonable for police vans to have a rear and front light bar, but yes ridiculous for the cars.
eveningniteshade 5 months ago
@eveningniteshade @CashMoneyBelieeDAT They're riser bars, they're used on Highways so that people can see from further back that there's an accident.

@egor2112 Some dont have the Hemi V8. Police departments complain on how terrible they are with gas. So they equip them with 3.5L V6s
