GOD will show up in our life independent of what we believe in.
Its up to you if you will create a lie to cover up that nudge we all feel in our hearts. the curiosity of something greater than ourselves and our problems and logic. I promise you will know no other greater love than Him just be open minded peeps. It's all good in Earth & Heaven hehe XD
i agree with the atheist. Christianity shouldn't be about being closed mind. its about
Mark 12:31 (King James Version) 31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
meaning reach to people with love and compassion and understanding.
not prove people that your right and their wrong. because if your trying to justify your beliefs so will the other person do the same.
listen people.. look up the song love is in the house by toby mac on the alive and transported version and listen to the message he has to share at the beginning of the song... I am a Proud Christian, when i say im a Christian im not saying im perfect, im saying i am guilty but not condemned, found and forgiven, and I will do my best to show the world love the way that God does.
You must not be listening to the lyrics of the song if you love it, and are proud to be an atheist. "I wanna be in the light, as You are in the light...." etc...
Why would you go talking about or listening to something contrary to what you believe? Would you listen to a song that dissed you favorite political leader, and then just say, "Oh, I don't believe what it's saying"? If you heard a poem about Hitler, and "appreciated the poetry" and told others about it, people would think you're a Hitler aupporter. And so on.
I don't believe in magic. Does that mean I'm not allowed to watch and like Harry Potter? I don't believe in ghosts, does that mean I'm not allowed to enjoy Amityville? I'm not gay and don't have gay sex, does that mean I'm not allowed to listen to Frankie Goes To Hollywood?
I can tell you're religious; you have a closed mind.
That makes absolutely sense, but sounds a lot like a person who's been rasied in a sheltered church enviroment. I am a follower of Christ myself, but if I heard an atheist listening to Christian music, I'd sure be happy!!! People listen to what they like, including Christians, but it is Christians who have the general notion that we should screen what we hear for our spiritual.religious beliefs... Its silly to think and atheist would necessarily hold these beliefs... lol
I really enjoyed Charlie's West Coast Diaries particularly the acoustic set. I thought the recent remake of Lie Down In the Grass was also pretty nifty . I remember when I met Charlie the first time in Clearwater, Florida, he was clutching a copy of a book by HR Rookmaaker in his hands. Anyhow from what I recall from our conversation, I remember thinking at the time that he was a smart, insightful guy who didn't take thinking and musing about his Christianity lightly.
@Yankees4364 Why should many (too many, in fact) Christian musicians have to be a counterpart of a mainstream Artist?
I feel Christian musicians are like vegetarian meals that try to resemble regular meals: the do not feel real. Not the same when vegetarian meals stand for what they are without trying to emulate anything with meat (like salads, for example). The same with Christian music. If at least the artist stood for themselves (remember good old gospel music?).
@hukes Being an Athiest, I highly doubt that you've even come close to discovering Christian Music. There are artists that I'm sure, you have never heard of, that write music for the glory of God, and for no other purpose. These artists that I'm talking about, don't write for people, or to gain respect, or followers. These artists write as an act of worship, to connect to the one and only true God, and for no other reason. So I argue that music like that, can be "mainstream".
@viewfoundfilms1 True. I really don't know many Christian music, but what I've heard is emulations of mainstream music and I -in my most humble opinion- think that they could reach other levels of worship if they didn't try to imitate mainstream musical genres. But that is just me, knowing that I might have a narrow point of view. :)
@hukes You may not agree with how their using their talent but don't question the talent. I'm Christian; i'm a musician my skills are used as people want ME. Musicians WHO WANT WORK BETTER KNOW HOW TO EMULATE OTHER ARTISTS. If we don't copy other players, then rock n'roll would be left with Elvis and blues would have never reached B.B. king. To say that any musician is less because they sound too mainstream is like asking EVERY musician for the last 70 years to "stop trying its been done" yudig?
@hukes No completely new media has been created in centuries (maybe longer); everything has drawn on sources from somewhere else because virtually every palatable chord progression, vocal style, writing style, drawing style, and so forth has already been used by the many billions of people who have yet lived and created them. Since the earliest forms of music from all over the globe were spiritual in origin, it could be argued that ultimately modern mainstream music has emulated the spiritual.
I had the amazing oppourtunity to sell merchandise for Charlie this past weekend. He is an amazing singer/songwriter/musician and so full of passion for God... This was one of the songs he sang at the Art, Justice, Music show I worked and it was beautiful...
I hate it when everybody thinks this song was written by DC Talk...this song is immediately identified as a Dc Talk song before Charlie P. I wish people like Peacock would get more credit... he's such a brilliant songwriter, musician and producer.
The best version of this song is on his Full Circle album, with Bella Fleck and Phil Keaggy,(and someone else singing too) bluegrass feel to it, incredible version.
it could see so bored to watch this video from charlie peacock, but if you come back to his story and see how much he has dome with VECTOR,STEVE SCOTT,AND SOME OTHERS,APART HIS OWN RELEASED THEN you will get me in what I mean, just to give you an Idia, something like depech mode, like u2,the flock 14 or else like flocks of seagulls, then you will appreciate who's playing this keybord,

What, so if I'm an atheist I can't appreciate art and poetry? I have to dislike something if it doesn't resemble what I think is truth?
