You can use any salt, like Sodiumchloride or Magnesiumchloride. I'm not sure, but in this case, it could be Pottassiumchnitrate(KNO3). It#s the most common way, I think! And if you do that with Pottassiumnitrate, there would be no toxic gas, I think.(Don't do that at home ;-)
