  • Ace work feel free to checkout my own effort.

  • perfect tempo! i have been up all night and i couldnt get to sleep, but listening to this will help me i think.

  • just figured it out. play it like this tho of course, iv heard it quicker n it jus doesnt sound right

  • so nice. good music (like real good music) is clearly from the heart.

    i must learn this :)

    thanx

  • beautiful

  • Well, I will play devil's advocate and say that, yes I prefer it played at this tempo. It is more emotion provoking at this speed.

  • Beautiful piece. I prefer it with more rubato and velocity variation in the left hand. Everyone tells me, "Satie is not Chopin." But that is just how I play the piece.

It's amazing how we all have our own interpretation and there's certainly nothing wrong with that. Good taste in music and good playing! It sounds nice regardless.

  • Thanks for your constructive feedback! Yes, I think it's just natrual that everyone has his own taste in playing. Otherwise it would be boring.

  • I liked how slowly you played this, most people play Satie far too quickly. But then again, here maybe you are missing a certain feeling in your playing, sort of plodding out the notes too much. I know it's hard to get both right. 5 stars anyway!

  • You play it amazingly. I prefer it wen it's a little faster than this, but that's just me, it still soungs great.

  • I agree with alecnation.. prob. a bit slower than what i would have played it. But other than that, Very good job! :)

  • Tres lent via de Leeuw. Music simply doesn't get more intimate than this. Time stops; the melancholic simplicity embraces; the nurturing repetition--- tres lent---soothes mind, body and spirit.

  • Very good desciption. It is exactly what you feel when you listen and especially when you play this music. Interesting that you mention de Leeuw. I strongly followed his interpretations as I highly acknowledge them.

  • Thanks, K.

  • Good job !!! I love listening to this !!!

  • You go boy !!!

  • pff!!!, excelente interpretacion esta melodia es maravillosa.

  • Well done! This piece is sensational!

  • This piece is one of my favourites, and you turned it to a dream... I really like the slow tempo, it's perfect! Good job!

  • very slow and measured.... probably slower than i would have played (not complaining, just a comment on me!)

    good job!

  • you are great, the timing is beautiful and perfect.

  • again: woooooooow........ its beautiful...

    i love Satie..

    you play very nice.

    (my english is worse... )

  • beautiful performance for a most certainly beautiful piece of music.

    5 stars.

    keep up!

  • Wolfgang Vock

  • There is something beautiful in it's sadness. It sounds corny but there is so much emotion in this piece. I love it.

  • Sensational weighting on the keys. The dynamics are incredible.

  • i really like this....welldone

  • very good job im very impressed u really get a sense of light with a hint of twisted darkness in your belly good job well done

  • Thanks for sharing :)

  • are you sure its that slow? Maybe I haven't heard this piece in too long.

  • yes, the original is that slow :)

  • I like the tempo...the lightness of the keys, and the shadows in your room... Congrats man!

  • This reminds me of my grandmother.. she past away 2 years ago.. thank you for uploading this

  • This is for me the best piece ever written though it scares me ^^'

  • Yeah, I learnt to play it yesterday =D !

  • satie was NEVER happy. he might have been proud though.

  • I don't know, I think Satie probably had happy points in his life. He was definitely eccentric and not well respected but he had a good "fuck you" attitude.

  • Wonderful..piano sounds great too...

  • It´s like dreaming a nice dream...but you are awake..nice.....

  • This is the best pace ever. Very deep feelings.

  • Beauty. Lost dreams. Drifting.

    A trance indeed.

    Thank you.

  • Very nice. Very nice indeed. I much prefer this pace to some of the other examples floating around out there. I am just starting to learn to play and hope to play like this some day!

  • I like this slow tempo, played with the right feelings; reason why I rated with 5****

One of the most delicate performance I've heard.

  • Yo wrote on your page: ''My performances aren't made to be perfect. I want to reach people's hearts all over the world with my passion for music''

    You did by this upload.

  • Thanks for the kind words :-)

  • Excellant!I love this piece immensely.I like your tempo. Thanks for the joy it brought me.

  • 1:17 has got to be the greatest theme ever written for the piano beautiful playing

  • Excellent! Finally someone who plays it at the right tempo!! I recorded this on a whim on my channel, so watch at your own risk!

  • Hi clipwip I couldn't find it. Can you give me the link where I can hear your interpretation? Thanks a lot!

  • hehe..

I was a bit embarrassed by my recordings, so I deleted them! I will record them again now that I have a better camera and piano to use. Yours is excellent, so I have nothing to teach you. I love those 6 pieces dearly and you are very wise to play them.

  • I will never get bored of this melody

    Good work dude!

  • i listen to mainly house and dance music but i really love this as well especially when its raining :) and my mind wonders off luv it..thanks

  • This performance is excellent. It takes effort to shade the dark melody with such appropriate dynamics and rubato. You are conservative in style, and absolutely musical.

  • Most people that I've listened to on here always play it too fast of a tempo. Albeit playing it slower than original, you have marked a great example in how to play this piece. It's not a upbeat song, it's a slow, beautiful, haunting melody... Great job. =]

@deniro20: Boring?? Are you kidding? this is satie! he's wonderful and I think the tempo is perfect ("lent")...

  • love that it's slow! I've see way too many videos of people plowing through satie and I just can't listen to them. This is lovely!!!!

  • This is one of my favourite pieces :)

  • In my opinion, the fast paced versions of this particular Satie are horrid. I'm not saying the slower the better, but I don't think playing it at a tempo this slow is a bad thing. Which is why I'm leaving your video on in the background as I write my book. Good effort :) x

  • This is so slow and boring...

  • Playing gnossinnes is like to meditate; they clear your mind. It's topics are deepness, self-discovery and knowledge. They are not a soundtrack for a mysterious action thriller

  • Please...this coming from the fellow that plays this beautiful, haunting piece with ham fists like it's a ragtime song...

  • Sorry, but that you are French doesn't predestine you to know how Satie must be played. Of course, our opinions can differ but you shouldn't think that you own the untouchable truth. I prefer interpretations by REINBERT DE LEEUW. By the way, Satie was highly inspired by gregorian music. So it's just my opinion.

  • I thought it was beautifully played. I play it faster myself but there is a lot of room for interpretation when it comes to Satie. Have a listen to mine if you find the time.

  • Good work. A little too slow, but otherwise quite nice. Very good expression in the dynamics, and rubato.
