that is amazing stuff under the hood. Using a shaft to spin everything! Citroen is awesome!!! I like when car companies do things there own way, if you dont like it then dont buy it. Thanks for the vid
Always use two stroke oil API TC 1:100 (1%) to prevent tank corrosion and carb clogging with modern dry and aggressive eco fuels that contain too much alcohol to be driven in old vintage carb or injection engines from the 70s
always use 1% two stroke oil in your fuel to prevent engine and fuel system wear and corrosion caused by modern E10 Eco Fuel! Its just too dry and aggressive to your engine and pump and tank materials. 2 Stroke oil neutralizes the acid in the modern eco-fuel. Most Maserati owners in Italy do so. The vintage Porsche guys in Germany do so.
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Sports Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Mercedes vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and EFi injectors clean as new!

I love that the SM. I did not know you could find some in Australia. That car was built half around the world from there! very beautiful car you've got here. I seem to recognize the head lights from the US version....I find them not as beautiful as the french version. Very very nice car though!!!
You can drive LHD cars in Australia (including this one, which has a full unrestricted registration). The rules are that the car must be 30 years old and unmodified from original specification.
thank you for this, I learnt something new about Aus motoring laws. I only wish I could afford to run a SM myself as these cars are a works of art. People pay millions for stupid paintings by guys who cut their ears off and yet more skill goes into these cars. I would go to a gallery to see an SM than a Van Guff!
@duzgo Convert to right hand drive? That will cost a fortune! If you add an extra rear view mirror on the opposite side from where the steering wheel is will be enough in order to drive a left hand drive on left hand traffic roads, we have right hand traffic where left hand drive vehicles are standard, we offer extra rear view mirrors for RHD vehicles on the road here so.......What,s the point of converting?
This is my all time favourite dream car its so sophisticated and looks still futuristic.
Today designers still have not surpassed this wonderfull spacedesign...the interior could have been designed by BANG AND OLUFSEN and Knoll and Arne Jacobsen its a real masterpiece !
Right now I have a 1977 Opel Diplomat 2,8 E injection but I will get an SM in a few years
The Citroen SM is a mid-engined, front-wheel-drive car. The compact V6 is place against the firewall with transmission pointing towards the front of the car.
This Actually gave it Unbelievably Good Handling. I saw a quot that it was like Driving a 170hp Mini as It would often Turn on a dime and even oversteer!
@gillan64 The DS and Sm were both actually 'mid engined' because the engine is located inboard from the driven axle. Doesn't need to be RWD to be mid engined!!
your made a nice and good job !!
congratulations !
