  • Heartbreaking to watch.

  • need investigation WHERE ARE THE BLACK BOXES?

  • LOL love the music! Doesnt really match the mood but what the hell? haha

  • LOL

  • Guess bigger isn't better...

  • Damned anti aircraft fire!

  • What happened? Why'd it crash? Clearly, it was the German 88s... the flak!

  • lol

  • So what failed? Left forward wing spar? Was there a splice there or is it a solid wing spar? Was a beautiful bird.. sorry it happened. With not so much added weight, a very thin fiber glass layer could be added, however I don't know if it would change the flight characteristics with a less flexible wing. Was the spar of plywood of balsa? just asking...

  • It is a shame to see such a beautiful model smash up. There is a lot of work there.

  • Damn shame I feel for yah buddy....

  • that's a hell of alotta flak...

  • what caused it?

  • That was me shooting you down.

  • 8mm movies?

  • man ...... that woulda been sad espacialy because it looked like a write off

  • ouch

  • WOW! It took as long to pick up the pieces as it did to build it.

  • awesome crash!

  • That has got to be one of the most spectacular RC crashes I've ever seen! Suck for the pilot/modeler though, ouch!

  • I've seen some crashes but this is one of the best! Must be a heartbreak though.

  • I think you exceeded the VNE fot htis aircraft!

  • I hope the crew got out allright... :P

  • Lol "WE'RE GOING DOWN!1"

It looked exactly like it got hit by a flak88 in the wing.

  • Did the plane hit something to cause the wing to come off, or what?

  • HOLY @___@ crap that sucks man.

  • Brilliant modelling, even the crash debris is realistic

  • That should be in a movie! Spectacular..... and unfortunate *_*

  • Wow...was the pilot and crew killed??

  • Ahhh that's nuttin'. Nothing a little tape and glue won't fix. Quit yur cryin and get to work.

  • I blame it on Ground Fire

  • Been there, done that, wish my wing spar had been stronger too.

  • Pilot to Copilot, "Left wing has separated from aircraft, get the emergency flight manual out". lol

  • That's taking wartime re-enactment a bit far!! :o)

  • wheres all the dead peoples?

  • MAy Day!!! May Day!!

  • the best rc warbird wipeout!!! r.i.p

  • looks like it needed about 30feet of carbon fiber rods lol nice crash tho shame really looked like a good plane

  • probably the most scale rc crash ever

  • Max: "Damn, how could we lose the war against the allied."

Moritz: "Maybe we shot with sauerkraut".

    :-) :-) :-)

  • What the hell was that thing made of? Styrofoam packing peanuts?

  • foamy!

  • Holly shit!

    That was skills LOL

  • Oh, it's only a model. No worries.

  • several thousand $ gone there probably

  • I feel for you man

  • Too many g's for the speed and dive.

  • i kinda figured

  • awsome but sad at the same time. look like a real plane crash.

  • rip all those who died...condolenses to the familes concerned

  • That crash gives you a good/bad insight as how a real aircraft would hit the ground and explode into 1,000's of bits. Maybe a stronger spar next time :[

  • What song is that?

  • IN THE MOOD is the track

  • lol use more glue

  • god i didnt know anybody caught this on film I remebr reading about it in a magizine years ago

  • Sad ending to a nice aircraft. Looks like a wing spar failure. What a mess.

  • Use more glue.

  • did the piolet eject?

  • wow! that G- force has broke the wing right?

  • Structural failure in an RC model is pretty rare, be interesting to know what failed.

  • lol i just had a wing tube fail on me in flight. It was a 100 inch 1/3 scale Extra 330L and the CF tube folded DOWN. luckily was able to get her in and I pulled everything apart to find i had about 1/4" of tube still holding the wings on! I was *THIS* close to loosing the whole plane.

  • Thanks for the reply. I built and flew r/c for over 20yrs and never had a structural failure of any kind. Most of the time I was flying heavy 4stroke powered aerobatic types like the Dalotel and Lazer. How ever my models did not have plug in wings and were all wood.

  • I see. Yeah this was a Kit and not an ARF, so I cant blame any part that was actually 'built' so to speak. But I find the hobby depressing as pilots who actually build their aircraft are becoming fewer and fewer. I like the time when a pilot was measured on how well he could build, and then on how well he could fly. Times have changed...

  • OMG....Went down like the real thing. What exactly happened? Looks like the left wing broke at the seam on the fuselage and then the other one followed. R u starting another project with the same type of aircraft?

  • Excellent video - awsome music

    Beautiful model - realistic

    sad

    The expense of this hobby

    Hundreds of dollars

Not to mention the time in building

  • Its a model plane, who gives a shit?

  • oh poor golf corse!!

  • IN THE MOOD !!!

  • whats the name of that song

  • IN THE MOOD !!!

  • @Playaviation

    WHAT???

  • @Playaviation What's the name of the song?

  • @fable2omg Oh for fucks sake... Glen Miller Band "In the mood" This question has only been answered 10 times....

  • @Landotter1 Now here you might not understand the humour on the question. I was replying on the answer. Despite the fact that the name is not in the description, youtube features the song tracking system that says witch song it is.

However, you really thought I was serious and decided to answer the question clearly. And I thank you for that, but obviously this certainly does not make you look smart wont you think? What is better? Answer a dumb question or laugh at it? Are you a robot?

  • @fable2omg Naaww I'm not smart.... I was dumb enough to give you the answer to your stupid question.... Yeah, I'm a robot. Just cause you said so.... What a wanker.... Whatever....

  • @Landotter1 lol comon

  • that was an awesome crash

  • .... and a vacuum!!

  • i played this song is our jazz band and we sounded better!!

  • kickass music

  • damn nazis shot it down with there AA's

  • Were there any survivors?!?! (j/k)

  • BAIL OUT!! BAIL OUT!!!

  • That was almost exactly like the real war footage of that B17 wing that got hit by flak and broke in half right at the fuselage.

  • this music is rad

  • Glenn Miller - In The Mood

  • you suck balls

  • what a dumbass to think that was real

  • GUTTED!!!!!!!!!!1

  • where did that darn me109 come from?

  • Dang it! the germans got another one :-(

  • Overstressed the airframe

  • high G!!!! XD

  • lets say he hit got hit by an 88mm

  • Ouch...how to make a grown man cry!

  • Some Crazy Glue might help.

  • i thought this was real

  • Why did he do that? Seems like a waste of money to me.

  • Awsome.

  • I've heard that Rurh was always heavily defended by dense A/A batteries... and this is what 88" flak can do... did anyone see any parachutes at least? :)

  • very scale like wreckage at least.

  • YES! this is the video I was looking for I remember this from the old RC plane crash video now I can show my friend this crash thanks for uploading!

  • puzzle plane - 10 000 000 pieces.

    terrible massacre:-(

  • its still fixable

  • i beg to differ, the b17 IS a fixed wing aircraft.....its not a helicopter......but you are right, all aircraft wings flex

  • Oh dear god. A fixed wing is the term for a plane that dose not have flexing wing. I don't know what the Non-German definition is, but I can understand your veiw.

  • Fixed wing means that the wings do not rotate, rotary wing defines a helicopter or autogiro. The wings flex on almost all fixed wing aircraft to some degree. You are wrong. Totally wrong.

  • @LEONA15512. Oh dear God, repeating yourself non-stop will not make you correct. Please look it up and stop spreading falsehoods. I'm not German, where did you get that from? I'm a pilot and an engineer though. Read bhm1712's comments - They know what they're talking about too.

  • To all whom it may concern: The wings are supposed to flex. If you have ever watched the wings of an airliner through your small window you'll see.

The B-17 is not a fixed wing aircraft so the wing will flex in a turn, as it desents, just about every manouver it performs the wing flexes to cope with G-force, I-force, and drag (or air resisstance).

  • lol... Then what is it a helicopter. I think you are confused as to what a fixed and nonfixed wing aircraft is.

  • Non-fixed-wing Aircraft: Helicopters, Jets, and Prop-planes .

Fixed-Wing-Aircraft: A big plane like a C-130. The wing of the C-130 dose not flex and bend like a Helioter's rotors, or a jet/prop-plane wing. I fly in the Luftwaffe (Tornado 45+58) so I know what I'm talking about.

  • You don't know what you're talking about at all. You're making a fool of yourself, even the most cursory search of aeronautical definitions on the internet or in a library will demonstrate your lack of knowledge. This is not a language thing, this is about you being totally wrong.

  • If you indeed are a Luftwaffe pilot as you state here and in your profile, I would LOVE a video of you saying this to your wingcommander.

It is fail to be wannabe-pilot with statements like yours.

  • "A fixed-wing aircraft is a heavier-than-air craft whose lift is generated not by wing motion relative to the aircraft, but by forward motion through the air The term is used to distinguish from rotary-wing aircraft (helicopters) or ornithopters, where the movement of the wing surfaces relative to the aircraft generates lift"

this is the universal definition, not a non german definition.

  • To whom it may concern - LEONA15512 pretends to be a fast jet pilot in the Luftwaffe but isn't. This is evidenced by a total lack of knowledge about BASIC aeronautical definitions.

  • To whom it may concern: "How well do you know your thermodynamics?"

If you knew you would realise it was the G forces that brought its dimise after making that diving turn. All aircraft have their limits-simply aeronautical science. The large wing absorbed more then it could take and due to the construction of the wing, airfoil, and spar it wasn't able to absorb the large G froces. Even scale planes go through G-forces.

  • Comment removed

  • When the wing came off it remided me of when i did that in the mighty 8th

  • Whats the name of the song in the background?????

  • What was the main spar made of in that model? Soft balsa? 8-[

Try a stick of carbon fibre next time. Next slo-mo of the failure, though, and a a good look at the wreckage that most vids leave out.

  • wow did you see it THE FW-190A8 ON THE TAIL HAMMERING IT THATS WHAT HAPPEND.

  • lmao!!!

  • that was frickin awesome. wonder how many europeans saw the same thing back in the day.. cept it was the real deal then =)

  • BAIL OUT!!

  • The wings are too week. You can see them flexing in the turn before the crash. It had to happen sooner or later...

  • did it hit the house

  • Did you fix it?

  • That would be NO then !!! wasn't enough let !

  • what a pity - looksd like you were having a lot of fun there - did the radio control die ?

  • MASS...CARNAGE!!!

  • What can I say..........OUCHHHHHHH. B-17's were good aircraft what happened to this 1, may I suggest a big parachute so next time it stays together & not in peices. bad ending for a brill aircraft.

  • Germans also rammed into the bombers. Rammkommandos.

  • Whats interesting is that German pilots were trained to target almost that exact spot. They would either start an engine fire, hit a fuel tank in the wing, or cause the wing to become unstable and buckle just like this.

  • ...Initially. They later found it easier to attack head on and take out the cockpit - hence the addition of the chin turret (B17G.

  • so sad. but a very impressive crash i must say

  • Pwned !

  • There are less pieces in a whole case of cornflakes!!!!!!

  • umm, no, not worse than an actual crash. Just think of that happening with thousands of pounds of fuel, ammo and PEOPLE on board. No way is that worse than an actual crash. See the mess that mad from a model though. Interesting.

  • Uhm....I don't think 17's were meant to manouever like that.....came around a little too fast and tore the wing right off.

  • really? I hadnt noticed.

  • Man! thats what you call FUBAR

  • my god!that crash is worse than an actual plane crash

  • lol watch for objeckt on the ground like pipes and roofs and most of all over g

  • I've never seen so many bits and pieces in a wreck!

  • That crash was amazing!

  • So the wingspar just snapped on its own without hitting anything?

  • scheibenhonig ^^'

  • Hehehe, learning by burning, too much G`s for the wing;)

  • i would cry my whole life

  • Waaaaaah! Tears before bedtime!

  • :O OMG! you must have been gutted!
