  • @tuoppidop....yeah right, so what do you ride?let me guess, a hayabusa turbo?

  • And that's why the rc8 R makes 180hp.. That's 4 horsepower less than the ducati 1098r, witch costs 45k.

  • 180 BRAKE HORSEPOWER.

  • Ducati measures wheel horsepower for all of their models? if not, I'm pretty sure I didn't say anything about the ktm making 180 whp.

    But still, Ducati 1089R 45k, Ktm rc8R 25k.

Either way, I'll stick with my 7k US cbr1000

  • ktm have been making top quality bikes for many years, get your facts right then make comment, and the rc8 is an awesome bike to watch and listen to racing, we have it as a back up in bsb racing this year and it really is excellent!

  • The awesomeness of watching and listening the RC8 race is A MATTER OF OPINION. "Top quality"... well i havent seen too much proof of that... although that doesnt mean its a piece of shit. Gotta admit my comment was kid-like.

  • Im with you Justin, The ktm have always been a top quality machine, just because its not one of those "main stream" brands people think there are not up to par with them, They are a very good top quality bike!

Yes its not a GSXR, Ninja, CBR, R1 but KTM have some thing that these dont, thats individuality and heart! KTM

    Its like saying Danny Crane!......KTM!

  • does any1 know how much it costs?

  • about 19,000 US

  • It sounds just like a Ducati.

  • rc8 u mad idiot

  • I have a choice of buying the RC8 or the Honda Fireblade 2008.

I don't know what to get.

Please advise on the pros and cons in comparison.

    Thanks

  • rc8 for pure riding pleasure blade for practicality

  • depends on what you'll do with it...ktm's a bike you buy with your heart, perfect for track days, the odd sunday blast and of course bragging rights....blade's a bike you buy with your head, it is far and away THE fastest litre machine available..and you can commute on it! i'd love to have your dilemma!

  • I have heard a number of times now that the gears pop out at will, neutral is accidently selected quiete often too.

  • Im Buyin It

  • I like the Ducati 848 in white so what, ducati handle like crap compare to this bike rc8 ? I like the 848 :(

  • Did you film this on a fucking mobile?

Sort it out TWO the quality is fucking gash

  • This is getting good reviews all round...

  • wonderful

  • Great looking bike. Way to think outside the box on styling.

    later

    dennis

  • awesome looking bit of kit!! not seen a bike yet that divides opinion as much as this one...

  • Like that Ducati do you mean high maintenance and extremely expensive to fix? The CBR600RR did a faster lap than the 1098 at Buttonwillow. See Sport Rider's write-up.

  • Reliability is irelevant to looks and sound fella. Very technical term and subject to many variables when you talk Ducati anyway, will perform on basis of how it's treated, ideological grounds don't prove that statement!

  • Umm.. Not exactly correct. Do you know what desmodromic means? I've been road racing for years. Never a Ducati but know a few that do. It's common knowledge that they are both high maintenance and extremly expensive to fix. So I'm speaking more on the grounds of experiential rather than ideological. I have a friend that lived on the Isle of Man that blew up his 999r on a simple track day in Seattle.

  • so you never owend one but yet you still talk trash based on what your friends say. not so much experiential imo. dont knock it tall you tri it. thats all.

  • Common Knowledge. You don't have to own something to know about it, d-bag. I'm around all kinds of racers from Italian to japanese makes. Everyone who knows anything about racing privately knows that the bikes are as I say they are. Which is high maintenance and expensive to repair.

  • As is with any race bike dip shit. There is more to a bike then just maintenance cost and expensive of repair! If you ever took the time to ride one you would see this. It more than makes up for it with looks, sound, fill,Heritage, quality of build and Precision. What do you think it cost to maintain a Ferrari or Lamborghini! it dosen't take away from them though. as with ducati.

  • But that is what we are talking about, dipshit. COST OF MAINTENACE AND REPAIRS. Before I retired my '05 GSXR750 that I raced in Superstock, we checked the valves and did I final Dyno tune. All the valves were in spec and had 133 rwhp. with almost 10,000 miles on the motor and constantly at redline. By the way, Ford beat Ferrari. Form follows function in my book. And I ridden them. MV's, Aprilias, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, your mom... >8)

  • A bike is a hobby. Hobby's cost money. I had 3 R1's. Now I own a 1098S. And I think it's ten times more fun. I don't care about the cost. And I'm not a millionaire. If you don't want to pay for your hobby, try knitting.

  • Who cares, can you do it, that's what matters, riding the bike you want not lap times.

  • Coool

  • YUMMY!

  • ME 2!!

  • I want to ride this!
