@SmexiAnimeBoy - you gotta realize that, yes, they had extremely limited tech. So, how else would you have wanted them to do Godzilla? Stop motion like the old King Kong or Ray Harryhausen stuff? Even though it might look a little better, the herky-jerky motion does not read as organic. Couple that with the fact that good stop-motion tech was extremely slow and expensive, either of which ToHo Studios, at the time, could not afford, and you are left with the guy in the suit tech.

Great Tribute!!!!! I met the man, the myth, the legend, Haruo Nakajima, the original Godzilla suit actor, at the Monsterfest 2011 in Burbank, CA in April. It was awesome... He's well into his 80's and he did a few Godzilla moves for the fans. I got an autographed photo and he took a picture with me. Hot Damn!
