I love how they had him stuffing his face and talking with a huge amount of food in his mouth all throughout the movie. - The scene where he meets Laura make him look like a pig, when he actually was kind of a dashing guy to the chicks. - Maybe Oliver Stone should have read "Fortunate Son" as he would have had more facts regarding Bush's shortcomings. - Josh Brolin did a good job. He an actor finally!
I just saw the whole movie on DVD the other day, for the very first time. I must say, this movie did a good job making its case. It wasn't a bush bashing film, but rather showed everyone that this guy had a chip on his shoulders but he didn't have the talent to fulfill his ambitions. Of course, now we are in a Great Recession and Iraq still has soldiers. But i do hope we at least get some oil out of it...although the oil prices are still high, so I dunno where the oil is at. Hahaha.

When I saw the movie I thought is was the funniest think ever. In the style of Mel Brooks this idiot and all the retards behind him are actually hilarious, but when it comes to mind that this is in fact based on real peole, all of the sudden is not only not funny but outrageous.
Oliver Stone seems to have a real problem with the idea of chronological order on his films. They are always chopped into pieces and constantly shifting back and forth. Perhaps he feels it makes a greater artistic statement, and sometimes it does. But it also confuses the hell out of the audience and puts them to sleep.
I gotta say, when I first saw this trailer it was, and still is, one of the best trailers I've ever seen. It's really insane and builds up really well.

I also thought the movie could've been great, but it felt really incomplete--the plot didn't morph into a continuous story, it just kept piecing itself together and then ended in what felt like the middle. I really wish we could've seen the 2000 election and 9/11 through Bush's eyes.
I don't think the main intend of this movie is to tell a story per se, as much as to post a question, "How did this retarded moron end up in the White House"?. We all know the story, is the answer to that question what I believe this movie is about.

Lotta critics like the movie. Ebert gave it four outta four, praised Stone for not adding his artistic license, applauded Brolin for his portrayal, but he loved Dreyfuss as Dick Cheney.

This movie was as good as what it is about. And what I mean by that this movie was about George W Bush who in all fairness is not that interesting of a person and he wasn't that good of a President. I can't believe Oliver STone wanted to direct this. JFK, Nixon, W haha I wouldn't even put Bush next to them, those PResident's at least to some degree had brilliance in them. Bush was worst than Daddy Bush I'd prefrered the first one if I really had to pick.

Oliver Stone seems to have a real problem with the idea of chronological order on his films. They are always chopped into pieces and constantly shifting back and forth. Perhaps he feels it makes a greater artistic statement, and sometimes it does. But it also confuses the hell out of the audience and puts them to sleep.

I gotta say, when I first saw this trailer it was, and still is, one of the best trailers I've ever seen. It's really insane and builds up really well.
I thought that film was going to be a piece of shit until I saw this trailer.

I agree that the trailer is great. I also thought the movie could've been great, but it felt really incomplete--the plot didn't morph into a continuous story, it just kept piecing itself together and then ended in what felt like the middle. I really wish we could've seen the 2000 election and 9/11 through Bush's eyes.

@davleuv I liked George Tenant a lot. If you look at his face during a lot of the on air stunts they pulled he was always astonished and dumbfounded. I felt really really bad for him, especially when Americans finally started waking up to everything that was going on and brought down the hammer on this admin. Colin...I dunno man, the whole speech he gave about WMD's really felt shady, maybe he was pushed into it, but it still pisses me off a lot.

Lotta critics like the movie. Ebert gave it four outta four, praised Stone for not adding his artistic license, applauded Brolin for his portrayal, but he loved Dreyfuss as Dick Cheney.
Of course, Bush or his administration have not confirmed whether they saw it or liked it. Brother Jeb recently said it was hogwash.
I liked it. Not as dark as Nixon, but at least Stone didn't play Bush as an incompetent buffoon or give the film a sitcom-type tone.
