i think the fact the last alt genre produced was emo and was shunned and hated by other alt genres shows that people dont want to make new alt genres but to keep the old ones alive, we should move on, create a "alt" genre thats puts all other alt genres to shame and make it mainstream so much that we can all be proud in the naughties my era was "name of genre" and put pop, punk, goth, metal etc in the bin if it only lasts a few years like punk id still think it would be awesome
