@lordchris85 That's fatal if done several times. And when it's you only source of water then it's even more dangerous. It's a big no-no for any survivalist.
Shut up everyone who is claiming "they could have eaten other things!"
I have walked where this has been filmed quite a number of times. There is honestly no other food out there that foreigners who do not understand the Tasmanian wilderness would have been able to find. The survival instinct would have been too strong NOT to go about killing the only source of food there. Even experienced Tasmanian bushwalkers struggle with finding a food source around the West Coast if they are starving.
what is telling this movie actually happends in present days in Siberis its very rear but some times when ppl ascape from prison there they take with them a man just in case they will be out of food, they kill and eat him!!!
I was trying to load subtitles for the gaelic and watched that damned pig eating that mutton shit in the beginning over and over again until I swear to god if I ever see him in person I will shove a mutton bone down his throat. As you can guess, I am frustrated and didnt manage to load the subtitles. They only worked when people were speaking english. Boy am I pissed.
that opening shot is enough for me to not watch this movie--i don't care if it's veal chop or some asshole's nutsack he's chewing--he's chewing loudly! arrrgh!
@jerramy@aquaphone I've walked where this was filmed and where it actually occured 4 times. Tasmanian bush land is unlike any other forest in the world. It would have been nearly impossible for forgieners to find food apart from themselves within it.
@aquaphone That exposed your absolute ignorance of both the Tasmanian winter and the necessities of the human body. The amount of food a human needs daily cannot be satisfied by a few worms digged out of the ground. Not that there were any to be found in the middle of a rigorous winter.
Going to see it tonight and meet the director. I live in Tasmania (or 'Van Diemans land') and know alot of the places shown just in the trailer. =) I'll probably do a review on my own channel +) stay tuned!
You showed your background by writing "mofo". Can you talk like civilized people ? Do you have that ability ? Or are you a primat ? You are not worthy to discuss this.
Again you swear due to lack of brain.Gay (but wants to hide) and pathetic people swear like you.Which one of them are you ? Let me guess ...None of them because you are an uncivilized primat.
this movie is really raw i saw it the other night... some people left the cinema!!! Great movie and doesn't really hold back on human instinct to survive which then leads to insanity.
Imagine a world post peak oil and our lovely consumer society fails to fulfill our needs, let alone our wants? Wonder how many of us will keep from getting to this level?
I cannot believe i watched all the movie .... Dont watch it its a piece of shit

Not quite. The tribes in New Guinea call human meat "long pig", for a very obvious reason.

@aquaphone Or eat mushrooms, or rodents, or fish, or lizards, or pine nuts, or the millions of other edible things in such an incredibly lush forest.
