lol, i suppose your are right about the cloaking and the amount of weaponry. the enterprise fought well, no doubt, but still, they got their ass handed to them. as for the romulans, yes, they sucked royaly in that battle. i also thought that the quantum torpedoes would have inflicted more damage to the simitar. they did an amazing job with the enterprise phasers though...
your forgetting about dreadnaught class, the defiant, remember the promethius? the enterprise just carries the fleet flag. sure its sleek n shit, but remember the battle with that huge reman ship? damn thing ran outa torpedoes and phaser juice. holes all over its ass. ppl gettn blown out into space. the enterprise got its ass kicked. sorry to say.
@wjohnmca sorry dude but its impossible to compare anything to the scimitar, the thing had an ungodly amount of weapon ports (in the hundreds), primary and secondary shield generators, a thelaron weapon which could wipe out a planets entire population, AND it could fire through its cloak.... sorry but the producers kinda fucked up in creating that ship, oh and btw those warbirds didnt help the enterprise out much either in that fight
I love that ship! The look of that ship screams speed and power! When I first saw her in First Contact it was like she was yearning to move, straining at the leash, ready to go. Too bad we only saw her in three movies. Maybe they will make a new tv series with her, about the captain that took over after picard retires?

@SfanFZR Well, if I were Starfleet Command, I'd reserve expensive ships of this class for small-sized yet critical conflict situations where the sovereign's capabilities wouldn't be drowned out by being next to a hundred other ships. The Insurrection situation is a good example of a fitting situation calling for the sovereign-class. Plus, the Dominion is likely to suicide attack such a stand-out ship, especially given the cramped nature of the fleet movements.
