Looks like they are getting the euphoria from hypoxia! And notice the dude in front doesn't even bother with his mask! What is the bag on the mask for anyway, I've often wondered that.
If I was their Cabin Crew, I'd pass around the cabin and switch off the oxygen system. It's obivous that they no longer need it. It's just more work for the generator!
I really like flying, but in the US I had another situation like that situation that shocked me. But the masks did not come down. Once the door was closed suddenly pressure fall down. My ears hurted like the plane would land very fast, and ever I freed them , another pain came in. I felt sleepy and my head hurt and I was so weak that I couldn't even hold the magazine that was in the pocket in front of me. I couldn't move my arms easily. It was horrible.
Man I love your guys attitude. I shit myself at the slightest turbulence. It all branches back to when I was five and I was in the restroom when those popped down due to the same problem.
@Powerade0125 Oh, okay. Did not realize that. seems very expensive. wouldn't it just be easy and cheap to replace the mask and refill the O2 containers?
@bryanb16th They don't use O2 Canisters, they use generators that practically recycle oxygen. It's easier, cleaner and the system lasts for twelve mins, which is the time it should take to decend to a safe altitude
@ThomsonAirwaysStaff Generators? Airliners use cans that burn specific elements that "produces" oxygen as the "waste." There is no extra work from them and once they start there is no stopping them. They go through their complete cycle. It's also not really a system per say. There is a can for every 1-2 pax. I think your information might be limited to a select few aircrafts.
Also, I wounder how you can tell they don't need it. They look like they have hypoxia and need oxygen. JW
We're travelling from Newark to Miami on 1st September 2008 by Continental.
There was a malfunction on the pressurazation system... The captain was absolutelly very good and the cabin crew too.
Nobody was in a panic, and so on... We're flying back to Italy (because we're italian) and just landed the Continental Assistance stuck us on another fly bound for Milan.
@thepres976 No offense intended, but what are the high pitched noises for, and what do your "grabbing" hand gestures indicate? Honest, I'm just curious. I like the video, though. Always wanted to wear one of those...
