@josparkes1 If you mean the song it is NOT an irish song - it is a traditional american song adaptet and arranged by A.P. Carter and recorded around 1930 by The Original Carter Family - Anita Carter made the best recording of this song in the late 1950's - is on youtube - look it up and listen

@54SV Stop kidding yourself, Americans claim everything for themselves, this song is trad Irish, is and always has been. The hillbilly's were Irish and American country music was started by the Irish. We were better than the yanks then and the best country music today is in Ireland.
