@passaralho23 I watched the whole video. this man does not like the holy ghost. And the bible says without holy ghost no man will see heaven. the holy ghost or holy spirit can only be given after a person repents and is baptised. The book of Acts chapter 2 verse 38 says Repent and be baptised everyone of you. in the name of jesus christ for the remission of your sins, and you shall recieve the gift of the holy spirit.
I believe there are believers and unbelievers who may be in hell. I don't necessarily think God's wrath has anything to do with hell. I believe there is evil enough on this earth that God does show his wrath towards those evil doers demonstrated many times in the Old Testament. God so loved the world that He sent His only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have life everlasting. For God sent not His Son to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. par
Actually you haven't once made yourself clear on whether or not you think God is wrathful towards sinners and that unbeliever's are in Hell. You just told me that Hell was just a garbage dump or something that made no sense at all.
I have never said that. You know how to try to put words in people's mouths. Maybe that is why you have a difficult understanding what you are saying, or that fact, what anybody else is saying. Read your Bible and learn, young man. You are 19 right. I'll explain that later. when you are prepared to listen. Be thankful God is yours and my judge and not me or you or anybody else for that matter. Read your Bible and then listen to God before you speak.
It's a shame all you can do is make false accusations. Everything I have told you is truth. I do have a major in Bible. We will conclude our discussions (not by you of course) with my favorite scripture. Perhaps you may be challenged by it. Paul's letter to the church at Philippi. Philippians 2:1-18. Blessings
That's a great passage. But it does not take away from the fact that every sinner is in need of forgivness from God. Jesus and John the baptist both preached "repent and believe". We wouldn't need to repent if there was no hell. Youre suggesting that any man can go to heaven without first repenting and believing in Christ for salvation. Youre saying that even if a man hates God, it doesn't matter because when he dies, he is going to heaven, even if he doesn't repent and believe.
And in fact, Romans 1:18-32 says that every man in his natural state is a sinner, deceitful, wicked, full of envy, HATERS OF GOD. And then it goes on to say that even though man knows about the JUDGMENT OF GOD, man does evil things and approves of evil things. No man deserves heaven. That is why it was so graceful for God to send his son to die for our sins so that His life could be counted to ours, His righteousness could be counted as our righteousness if we repent and trust in Him.
I am a graduate of an evangelical Christian college with a major in Bible. All you have done is condemn everybody and everything. Unfortunately, this arguing is not advancing the kingdom, and there is so much more to do. So, I wish you the best in whatever it is you do. Whatever you do, do it in love. I hope you can understand that.
haha. I'm sure youre a graduate from an evangelical Christian college with a major in Bible. Except, you haven't quoted from the Bible since we've been going back and forth.
You should probably take a history class and sit down and read your Bible every once in a while. But I guess since youre going to accuse me of smoking something, you've run out of half-way intelligent things to say.
Who's fooling whom. I have thrown your scripture back at you and you can't understand it. There are more important things to do than argue about these things. All I know, is Jesus said, when you do this to the least of these, you do it unto me. I am a Christian, who is concerned about those in poverty, injustice, widowed, unclothed and those in prison. That is whom I minister to. It's time to stop this partisan bickering over being right. As stated earlier, even the disciples couldn't agree.
And doing what Christ did is not about helping people have a better life. He came as he said to "seek and save the lost" and he did that by preaching hell, God's judgement, grace, being separate from legalism, and trusting him for salvation. You don't seem to agree with any of that and the disciples most definently did agree with that.
I'm not stupid. I know king James did not write, but he did have enormous input. King James version is "not" the most accurate. It is the least accurate. The ESV as you stated and the NIV are the most accurate in translation.
Wow. You need to do some research obviously. The KJV was translated by men who did nothing but study the languages of the Bible and how to correctly interpret them. and King James had absolutely no influence on how the KJV was written.
King James didn't write the king james version of the Bible. He just authorized it for use among the common people of England. And it is one of the most literal versions of the Bible that you can buy. Of course there is not going to be a literal version of the Bible that is translated into English but for the most part, the kjv along with the ESV and NASB, is as close to the literal greek, hebrew, and aramaic language as you can get.
I've thrown your own scripture back at you, but you apparently haven't figured out how to interpret it. Get our your church history and theological commentaries and do some studying.
Well, I'd say that you don't have an argument until you start giving me some actual scripture to back up your claims. As a Christian, I base all truth on God's words. Any claims I make in a disagreement like this come from the Bible. That is my only source of truth.
They did disagree on who was teaching the right way. Just as today. They all know Christ personally, but it was the methods and whose way to Christ was right.
All of his disciples knew that Christ was their salvation. And why do you keep repeating what I've already told you?..."God is a loving God who has provided an atonement for all people." In none of your claims have you provided scripture and that it the only source of truth we have in this disagreement. So far your claims have only come from your thoughts and not God's words.
"Ye serpents, Ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of Hell?" Where in GOD'S WORD does it say anything about Hell being a big burning city dump. What would be the point of God sending somebody to a city dump when they could just find their way out of it? That is the most foolish statement anybody has ever said about hell that I have ever heard.
"And if thy hand offend Thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into Hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched" (Mark 9:43). The fire talked about in this passage is eternal, everlasting, infinite, and it "NEVER shall be quenched." The fire at a burning city dump will not last forever. It can and will be quenched.
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone" (Rev 21:8) There is still hope for you though. Repent of your sins and trust in Christ for your salvation and God will turn his wrath away from you and you will be saved from hell.
I'm not twisting words, you are. And they are literal, so I'm not sure you can refute those. God is a loving God who has provided an atonement for all people.
All you have done is condemn Rob Bell and others whose Christianity is not your christianity. Could it be that perhaps your christianity is wrong. Besides, the disciples could not agree who was right. Be careful, lest you become like the pharisees. part 3 end
Did you not read my reply about God sending Christ as an atonement for our sins? Yes God is loving. But He is also a just God who does not allow unrepentent sinners into His kingdom. And I'm sorry, but Hell is a real physical place that is not of this world. It is not a "city dump." Stop twisting the words of God's scripture into something you want it to be because it is less offensive to you.
None of Christ's true disciples were in disagreement of who was "right". They knew the Lord Jesus Christ as their infallible teacher, instructor, and leader and would never question His teachings. And countless times, Christ talked to them about sin and God's anger, wrath, and judgement towards unrepentent sinners. God is good and loving but that does not mean that He is without anger and wrath.
During the reigns of wicked kings Ahaz and Manaseh, human sacrifices to the Ammonites god were offered there. It was a perpetually burning city dump. Again, the angels made their own decision and God threw them out of heaven. I'm not sure they are in hell yet, because the Bible talks of them being demons around us.. Don't go throwing stones until you really know what you are talking about. I just wonder where is Christs' love in all this. part 2
Listen to yourself. No wonder your god is angry, you are constantly angry. My god is a loving god who has provided grace and forgiveness through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. None of your scripture references denote God sending anybody to hell. My, my, that is left up to each individual.Besides, the Matthew 5:22 reference is symbolism only as Jesus is referring to the burning city dump just south of Jerusalem, the place was called gehenna. (part 1)
We all deserve hell because we are sinful creatures. And God is perfectly jusified in His anger and wrath towards us. But He is also a loving God that shows grace and mercy. He sent his son down from heaven to live a perfectly righteous life in this evil world. By Christ's blood we may be forgiven of our sins if we repent of our sins and trust in Him for salvation.
I believe Rob Bell is preaching wholistic Christianity. It is truth beyond a reasonable doubt. The words he speaks of Jesus are the words I read everyday.
salvation came by repentance and faith in God in the old testament and in the new testament. But if you would like, then yes I can show you where Jesus Christ himself mentions that hell is a place that God sends people. Matt 5:22, Matt 10:28, Mark 9:47. Scripture also mentions God throwing even angels into hell because of sin in 2 Peter 2:4.
You find me where in God's word that He says that He doesn't send people to hell and then you tell me. You have no argument against me because you do not use scripture to back up your claims. And no I am not dead.
Where in the world in the scriptures do you get that God is angry at sinners. He loves all sinners, including you and I. He would not have sent Jesus if he didn't love us. Those of us who grew up with biblical literalists telling us what to do are thankful for the fresh teaching of people like Rob Bell who have delved into the original writings of the scripture and showing the true light of the Word of God. I wish more would open their hearts and ears.
If God weren't angry and wrathful toward sinners then there would be no need for God to send sinners into eternal damnation. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) Therefore God displays his righteous judgement and glory by sending them to hell unless they repent and trust in Christ for their salvation. Read Psalm 95:9-11 and see if you can translate that in a non-literal way. It cannot be done.
Psalm 95:9-11 "When your fathers tested Me they tried Me, though they had seen My work. For forty years I LOATHED that generation, and said they are a people who err in their heart, and they do not know My ways. Therefore I swore IN MY ANGER, truly they shall not enter into My rest."
The "fresh" teachings of Rob Bell do not proclaim the one, true, essential gospel of Jesus Christ and where the true gospel of Jesus Christ is not preached, there is not salvation because the gospel "is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes..." (Romans 1:16).
mokmama, if you can find somewhere in God's word where it says that God isn't angry and wrathful toward sin and sinners then feel free to share it with us. What would be the point of God's righteous judgment on the wicked if He wasn't angry?
A lot of your faiths indicate Satan as the winner of the contest for souls and glory, I find that odd.
God can do nothing other than honor and praise himself (lest he commit idolatry), therefore he is not angry, he must forgive, if he does not he brings more honor to Satan and his apparent mass horde of souls so many of you claim is the destination of so many people, because of God's wrath.
All I can say is praise God that He has given Christians the Bible and a mind that is being renewed and sanctified so that we can interpret the Bible correctly and not be lead astray by the apostasy and false teachings of Rob Bell. God IS angry at sin and sinners and He will judge all men one day and because He is angry at many, they will be thrown into hell to feel God's angry wrath forever.
wow way to make God sound like a tyrant. its because of what you said that people are so turned of by Christianity. God is love, and anything not conceived in love is worthless. read 1st John 4:18
Um no. Clearly in scripture, people are turned from God because that is their nature. People naturally hate good and love evil (Romans 1:18-32 and 3:9-20) That is why it is so gracious and loving for God to save people from the wrath that they deserve. And that is what Rob Bell doesn't preach. The fact that God is angry at sinners doesn't make Him sound like a tyrant; it does the opposite by making him a God of justice.
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;" after seeing what he had to say in Velvet Elvis, Rob Bell's theology is barely recognizable as Christianity.
Yeah, and I think the followers or Rob Bell would rather read his books than even pick up a Bible. The book of Romans alone is enough to thwart his teachings.
Rob Bell is engaging in what the bible calls, "the vain philosophies of man". He has abandoned the Word as sufficient, and abandoned the gospel of Jesus Christ as the catalyst for regeneration and substituted his own man-made feelings.
Now, this is America, and Rob Bell can do whatever he wants. But he, and those who follow him, should know that whatever he's teaching, he's not teaching Christianity.
Um I don't know where he is getting any of this from or what these "forces" are that he's talking about but I've watched a few of his videos and I heven't heard any scripture references for anything that he's said.
He's trying to paint a picture of ancient pagan society. He's acting out the various conceptions and anxieties they had about harvest and giving birth and appeasing the gods. He's not getting this from the Bible. I can see why some folks are confused. He's giving a preliminary overview of the way primitive man thought of the spririt world, their religious beliefs and such, an anthropological primer if you will.
God is very angry,,, and He's got very good reason to be.

I have one question about these Rob Bell videos...what on earth and where in the Bible is he talking about????
Why does this "christian" sound like a New Age philosopher.

Amen. This is 2 Timothy 4:3 right here.

It's pretty obvious he's referring to breathing.

That's because Rob Bell is a heretic. Look at the title: The God's aren't angry.
The bible, however, tells us that God is angry with the wicked every day.
In one fell swoop, Rob Bell basically says, "Don't believe the bible, believe me"

He Does Not. He Gives The Facts of The Time of What Was The Norm in Society Then. Stop Hating
