I believe the Nurses Ball moved from the soap GH to Port Charles when Lucy left GH. I just youtubed a dance number from the Ball and all the people were from the soap Port Charles.
You may have seen a dance number with characters from PC but if I'm thinking correctly, there were a few years where the Nurses Ball was shown on both GH and PC. Since PC was new at the time, they used the Nurses Ball as a way to get people to watch PC as well as GH. I liked Lucy, but for me the best part of the NB (besides the acts) were the great speeches that Robin gave each year. Now that she is on daily it seems stupid not to have the NB every year.

I remember the AIDS foundation: The Nurse's Ball that was sponsored by Ms. Coe, it always seemed to fall around this time in June, does anyone remember the lat time we saw The Nurse's Ball. Has Jill (the EP of GH) ever done a Nurse's Ball since she took over if so did the show or herself say the reason for not continuing the tradition.

I always looked forward to the fun and touching moments of the Ball and hate that it's not a part of GH any longer. Whoever is writing the show should think twice about not doing this. We would miss Lucy but she wasn't the entire ball.
Where or where did my GH go? So much fun in one day's episode. And note, an African American family integral to the community; certainly not on today's GH. Just sad how GH has sunk to the gutter compared to these classics. Guza and Farren Phelps have ruined this show and as each month passes of sinking, dismal ratings, I fear there is no way to recapture the GH I knew that was so addictive no one wanted to miss an episode.
I agree. There aren't any African Americans on GH nowadays except for Epiphany and Lainey but you rarely see Lainey unless someone's going crazy. You barely see an extras either. It's like black people don't even live in the city of Port Charles at all.
It's amazing that the actress (Rosalind Cash) that portrayed Mary Mae Ward was battling cancer at that time. She passed away several months after that performance. I sure do miss those GH days.

There're plenty of things I miss about vintage GH - good writing, PERIOD, is at the top of my list!
