I did look at the "evidence" and was not impressed. When you analyze a report, you must weigh whether or not the source is credible. If it's not credible, then you shouldn't give it any weight no matter how much you want to. The report that the U.S. was plotting military action against Al Queda (even in Afghanistan) isn't surprising given it already did take military action in 1998.

Obama has repeated the mistakes of Clinton's bombing in Kosovo by failing to request and obtain Congressioinal authorization to use military force against a country that has not attacked U.S. territory, the U.S. military or U.S. citizens. War serves any master. It contains no ideology, and thus cannot be made responsible for the ideological outcomes of winning or losing a war. It's war - the most basic mechanic that makes everything else tick, that is needed to make things work. So whatever that is being done - it's war that makes it happen.
@hr1100 I never said war had no potential usefulness, or that peaceful means solved everything. But war certainly doesn't make 'everyone tick', otherwise it'd have no opposition. & It needn't be the only means for change, just as punching somebody needn't be the only means to solve a disagreement. War is when the little people suffer and die so that the elites can get richer. Gone are the days of ideological war. That's why the US is so obsessed by WW2. It was the last case of a 'pure' conflict.
@TAMARLANE That doesn't really make sense. War does not have a causal relationship with those changes. All it means is that the slavers, Fascists, Nazis, Socialists and Communists didn't win. However, they ALSO waged the wars. It takes two to tango, so to speak, and if any of those groups above had won, they'd also say that war had solved their 'problems'. What brings about change is far more complex than war. Using war to supplant one ideology for another, does not equate to proper change.

But I am disgusted when I learn that the wars they have been fighting are pointless. We were in Iraq simply for oil. Afghanistan is different, we went in there to avenge the deaths of the terrible day of 9/11, but we've been in there for far too long. I'm tired of anti-war protesters being criticized.

I did look at the "evidence" and was not impressed. When you analyze a report, you must weigh whether or not the source is credible. If it's not credible, then you shouldn't give it any weight no matter how much you want to. The report that the U.S. was plotting military action against Al Queda (even in Afghanistan) isn't surprising given it already did take military action in 1998.

During the Egyptian insurrection, Obama did what he would not do in the Iranian situation: stab an ally in the back while supporting the Islamist opposition. Obama and his cronies are now cashing-in on a situation that they created (whether by design or thru ignorance remains to be seen).

Attacking Libya is plain Illegal. UN should have sent civilians contingent to monitor the events there. @Daxlight However, one could say that these are not attacks on Libya, but attacks on its dictator. Just as long as the nations participating do not seek to control the outcome of the revolution (ie, manipulate the leadership and politics, or use the rebuilding as a means to install American multinational businesses, etc). As for identifying who's who - these rebels have become an organised, military-like force. It is not so hard to differentiate between them and the actual army they're fighting.

Obama's unilateral choice to use U.S. military force in Libya is an affront to our Constitution. Obama has repeated the mistakes of Clinton's bombing in Kosovo by failing to request and obtain Congressioinal authorization to use military force against a country that has not attacked U.S. territory, the U.S. military or U.S. citizens. This is particularly ironic considering then-Senator Obama campaigned for the Democratic nomination based upon his opposition to Bush's decision to invade Iraq.

War serves any master. It contains no ideology, and thus cannot be made responsible for the ideological outcomes of winning or losing a war. War is just a tool, and it is the wielders that instigate and solidify the change that follows it.

With motivations and speech you gain support, but that alone won't guarantee realization of your goals or stop opposition, otherwise, nations would have made democracy songs instead of bullets. It's war - the most basic mechanic that makes everything else tick, that is needed to make things work. So whatever that is being done - it's war that makes it happen.

But war certainly doesn't make 'everyone tick', otherwise it'd have no opposition. & It needn't be the only means for change, just as punching somebody needn't be the only means to solve a disagreement. War is when the little people suffer and die so that the elites can get richer. Gone are the days of ideological war. That's why the US is so obsessed by WW2. It was the last case of a 'pure' conflict.

However, they ALSO waged the wars. It takes two to tango, so to speak, and if any of those groups above had won, they'd also say that war had solved their 'problems'. What brings about change is far more complex than war. Using war to supplant one ideology for another, does not equate to proper change.
