  • Wonderful sound, great musical taste. Loved him especially as the occasional other half of Braff.

  • This is a lesson on how to comp for a solo

  • Supurb Saxiphone-ist.

    All four are grade-A professionals.

    Banker-Schmanker-- I think he's Hot

I'd do him in a heartbeat.

  • I thought S.H. grew up on Long Island NY.

  • @Gorsegrower Providence , RI -at least in high school.

  • Excellent share!

    Thank you ;-)

  • fats waller is smiling somewhere...

  • Gracias Luiz por enviarme tan estupendo grupo de jazz!! Es fabuloso... y por supuesto mi enhorabuena a Phub

  • great music...!Paul Scheming was my teacher at Berklee, i still keep unforgettable memory of his great teaching! He gave me a lot and I always refer to his lessons when i go on stage to perform ...I love all the band here and Paul's solo is unique, full of taste, siwng wow!!!thank you for posting!

  • Nice stuff - great pace, great swing, great playing.

It is interesting to see how different artists approach different pieces. Oscar Peterson, for instance, attacked Jitterbug Waltz with furosity and left hardly any space.

    Both different. Both work.

  • ......it's the space between the notes that makes the music.....

  • Or to put it in Count Basie's words:

"Its not the notes you play, its the ones you leave out."

    :)

  • That's because the Count had a gift: He could say a million things with only a few notes

  • I totally agree with you!

  • scott really has the art of waiting, together in his phrasing. what a great player. not too many like him around anymore. he may be from ri. but he now resides in england

  • S0 Cool Sound!!I heard it,hundred times!!But this is always cool to me!!I also love this song so much!!

  • i love scott hamilton.he has so cool.

  • SCOTT KNOWS THAT LESS IS MORE!!

  • Another of my favorite tenor players.

  • As a tenor sax player, he gets my vote! The best!

  • Poor Chuck Riggs is barely heard. He and Scott have been playing together since what amounts to forever. Always good to hear Mr. Hamilton. Great taste and great style.

  • Scotty does a great job on everything he does. Met him in Seattle, where I think he's from. He's one of the most modest & unassuming guys I've ever met. Looks like an accountant....lol

  • You only have to hear three words from Scotty's mouth to know he's from Providence, RI :-)

  • Thanks for the info Folk. Always thought he was from Seattle for some reason. Being Canadian, I'm not an expert on different accents in different states.

  • lol a friend of mine said scot looked like a bank manager

  • Scotty is always woth 5 stars; great guitar & piano solos as well.

  • great! great paul schmeling too excellent teache! excellent pianist!

  • GREAT swinger! Scott is AMAZING!!

  • I like the full-bodied sound Scott Hamilton gets out of the tenor sax. He really knows how to swing. Nice guitar solo, too.
