I have to agree, I don't think that there are many pyrotechnicians in Europe who still light the fireworks with a bengal light. That is very, very dangerous.

wow love that..must be great doing that whith so many single mortars..we often have like cakes and such..though,i haven´t been into joinging pyros for so long,I can surely tell a electrofired show,is far more accurate, but still handlighting is something special :) pyromusicals should ofc, be electrofired but e-matches is really sensetive from what I have heard,so rather than blowing youself up by handlighting you could kill your entire crew set off things by the e-match pre showtime..

hoezo stoer doen? je denkt ik zeg de waarheid niet ofzo? gozer.. ik kom elk jaar in de buurt van brussel en daar hebben ze zat vuurwerk winkels en haal ik allemaal shells vandaan, en btw. er was ook shells van belgie naar nederland geinporteerd en dat was nog op het nieuws ook.. er was een hele garage vol shells gevonden die van belgie afkomstig waren. ik koop uit brussel al zo een 6jaar shells dus denk niet dat het illegaal is hoor?? en die dingen zijn ook niet zo duur ook. koop altijd 8"-12"

Having worked in Pyrotechnics and special effects for the last 8 years - why the hell do people still expose themselves to this type of danger - electrically fired shows are far safer, more enjoyable and reduces insurance costs. All pyro companies should test fire stock to get accurate lift burst and duration times the count of 3-5 is pure crap. Investment in technology is the way forward have a look at the Galaxis system - far better than any other firing system.

Galaxis is nothing special. But go on wasting your money if it makes you feel safe. I'd like to see the look on your face when a little bit of static or shock sets off an e-match and ruins your weekend.

Nothing like the control of hand fire, allows for last minute changes and it's like being a DJ, feel the mode and act upon it ;)

premier dose do pyro musicals with fire one (the only way to go when e fireing) the info about only doing e fire shows lowers your incurance is pure bull shit who ever told you that dosent know what there talking about... the 3-5 sec count is for the time between lighting the next shell not the duration time. and we do pro shows every time all the time with safety in mind. it cost money to do e fire shows so how r you going to explain to a customer that wants a small 1000 dollar show...

aparently you dont know how fun it is to hand-fire fireworks for a show. And besides, even if you did fire the show electronically, you will still need to stick to the plan of 5 count and 3 count, if you dont, then you could ruin the whole show.

As a professional pyrotechnician for the past 12 years, I can tell you that the biggest rush is not lighting the shell, it's not feeling the lift charge, it's not cheating death and dodging danger.

It's after the finale goes off and you hear the audience roar, car horns blare, and you know you did your job right!

dont understand why they not use a electric fire work system ignitor. you can get some there can hold over 10 000 fuses and then you can programming them to auto fire so you can enjoy the show. and should one of the shells be bugged, then you don't kill yourself.

I have thought the same,,but i guess it is a better show for the tv watchers seeing someone risk the life instead of someone pushing a button,,and there are som pyrotechnics that works this way still, and he seems to be one of them!

because premier pyro is to cheap. firing shells via e-match adds to the shows cost and also decent firing systems cost 10k and above
