The only thing is that even if that was 20 feet witch it is not 20 ft but it would pretty much miss because that would have went between the persons feet. so i would count this a a major fail
How long have you been throwing knives, and what techniques do you master besides from the hammergrip? I started a few months ago with 9 pieces of UC2507, and i am glad to say that practice really makes perfect ;-) but i think it is a good idea to learn how to throw a regular military knife as well, as you do in this video. No doubt you got in the 20 feet there, and nice presentation by the way!
I think that wasn't the point here.. True skill is always nice to see of course, like archery video of a guy splitting an arrow.. or someone throwing 3 knifes to bullseye in a row. But all videos don't need to be like that.
I liked the uploaders clip, that was a type of knife I've found a bit harder to throw then others. Haven't practiced with that type much, so guess that's it. One spin throws (or no-spin) would be cool from 20ft. though :)
This model is the Glock 81 survival knife. I own the Glock 78 field knife without the saw back. I got it for about 20 bucks at my local sporting store. these are perfect throwers.
The knife in the video costs around $25.00 for a knew one. Its made by Glock out of Austria and was designed for the Austrian military. There a good quality knife and pretty inexpensive. There is many other military style knifes though as I'm sure you know. Its all in what you want and how much you want to spend. But I would recommend the Glock knifes because they are a quality knife at an affordable price. They're also balananced for throwing.
@Breathor Trust me glock is one of the best quality knife for the price. Some 25 dollar knives are not really worth your time but the glock could easily be a 60-70$ knife.
I'm trying to learn the "hammer grip" as well. Do you have any advice for a beginner? I've been trying to hit a target at a mere 15 ft. and have a great deal of trouble.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I do have some advice for you. If your just beginning then don't try to throw the knife to hard. Just start out nice and easy with consistent amount of force when throwing it. It takes a lot of practice to get accurate. Use a bigger target like a 4'X8' sheet of plywood with a painted bulleye on it. Work on being consistent with form and thowing force and as you get better you will get more accurate. It takes a lot of practice and patience you'll get it.
