Can anyone help me? I got the imac 20inch 2.4ghz 1gb ram running leopard...brand new install......i get the spinning ball of death so much, And it lasts for at least 15min or more everytime.....I also noticed the breather hole on the back was 1/4 the way covered with dust.......ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!
i'm having similar problems with a 2 year old imac, mostly in 3d apps and games, it seems to get wors overtime. but the problems started about half a year ago. i also have random crashes where the screen blurs out in grayish patterns and crashes. if u find a sulotion please tell me :)
Happened to me the 1st day I got the imac install SMC Fan Control on it, brought the temp. down from 110 degrees to 73 just by speeding up the fan!!! That will prevent that from ever happening AND to extend your macs life.
This is what you get, when you buy a Mac.

@PokePackOpener14 All computers have problems, I'm sure PCs have had similar problems in the past

@Camelle1986 No, the moral says: JUST BUY A PC!!!

@MOOVIEbySEBBI Actually it's possible to run PC OS on imac. Macs run PC software a whole lot faster than PCs do, in fact.

@Camelle1986 Yeah, that's right.

Yes it seems that the video card is the problem. I got a new iMac for Christmas and mine is perfect.

Same here. Mine has had absolutely no flaws. Man, you need to get that baby fixed before something goes really wrong with it. It may also be heat.
