I love this car! I have a Gen III Prius and love it as well. When it comes time for me to trade in a couple of years I will more than likely get a PHEV Prius. I have learnt my lesson on being an early adopter of new technology. Had a 2010 Insight, suffice it to say the car didn't live to Honda's quality standards. I will let Toyota get the bugs worked out on the PHEV Prius first.
This whole Plug-In thing is not practical at all..he is talking about plugging it at work and wherever u go..there are no stations and even if there were stations, no one is going to stand around for 30 min- 3hours(on conventional outlet) especially not for only an extra 14 fucking miles!! Toyota needs to increase the electric mode to at least 50 miles and then the hours of plug in every fucking day would be closer to being worth it you Fuck Heads!! Fuck all of you Assholes! Give me what i want
@whole27 it would make more sense put some god damn solar panels on the hood, roof, trunk of the car. cars are parked in the sun at least 12 hours a day. It probably be able to charge about 1 mile per hour of solar panel charging.
Why would it take 3 hours to charge 12 miles when it only takes 4 to charge 100?? I wonder if the 2012 Prius Plug-in Hybrid has a 440v outlet so charging can be much quicker. I wonder why they dont use a 20 mile battery pack?

This Prius has Lithium-Ion batteries, so it is more efficient than a regular Prius
After plug-in mode is complete, it will get more than 50 MPG based on battery upgrades
