" 19 hours ago I will not pay for a station that lacks any sort of journalistic standards as Fox News does. I am dead set against this kind of tabloid news poisoning Canadian media."
I agree that is why I don't want my tax dollars funding the CBC.
Let the free market decide what it wants. you cant force people. The Pravda mentality has to end.
@aWhiskeyTangoFoxtrot So you believe that a Conservative News station is somehow going to be fair and balanced, and deliver an unbiased view point . I'm sorry but I have a really problem with party affiliation, like organized religion, I feel if you need a party what to tell you what to think than what is the sense in think at all. The one true affiliation in this world should be Truth if people want a station where they are lied to and manipulated then I want no part of it!
@aWhiskeyTangoFoxtrot having said that they are the closest thing to any party in Canada actualy having Conservative ideology, that stands a chance of getting elected. The Liberal party is Statist in ideology. And as you know the NDP is Socialist/Marxist.
@mahalcat I watch and follow both Canadian and American politics very closely.
Both have their advantages and disadvantages. In the end though, like the rest of life there is right and wrong. sometimes you can come to an agreement or compromise. But on many issues compromise is simply impossible, as it goes directly against what one party may stand for. Infighting can also save a country from destructive government as well. Like the situation in the US right now.
@mahalcat "being controlled by their medical insurance companies told what coverage they can and cannot have."
Sounds like government run healthcare to me. At least down there you can get a needed test before you die.....my sister in law, only now just got an MRI after waiting 5 months to see if she had a tumor.
People just have to learn to take responsibility for themselves. If it means buying insurance before you get ill, so be it.
Responsibility concept runs counter to liberal ideology
And incidentally, our wait times are nowhere near as bad as right-wingers claim, PLUS we have enough humanity to not charge you thousands of dollars out of pocket.
@BoredomCorner well the "conservative" party is only conservative in name.
While they might see themselves as conservative, they are not. however they are closer than any other major party in Canada.
as for fascism....this is a term often used by uneducated individuals.
Fascism, like socialism, communism, and Marxism are products of the left. So to ever try and connect it with Conservatism is utterly foolish. Conservatism is about individual liberty.
we are forced to pay for a Liberal/Socialist network (CBC) so why not a Conservative/Liberty based media outlet.

@mahalcat The problem up here in Canada is that we seem to think that Conservatism is the same thing as the "conservative" party. It is not.
The "conservative" party in Canada is not very Conservative at all.

@aWhiskeyTangoFoxtrot How do you figure liberals don't believe in responsibility?
And incidentally, our wait times are nowhere near as bad as right-wingers claim, PLUS we have enough humanity to not charge you thousands of dollars out of pocket.

@BoredomCorner just enough humanity to make you wait months on end for scans and treatment....perhaps long enough to die.

the proof is in the behavior and policy. This is fact.

@aWhiskeyTangoFoxtrot Tell me about it, the "Conservatives" today are acting more and more like fascists with blank cheques all the time.
