Well you may have already tried this but on Heroes 2 you just click on a stack then while holding shift click on an empty space (or a stack of the same creature) and it will ask you to type how many go there, it might be the same for this game but idk anyway hope that helps :)

I've been a supported of the series for like 15 years but heroes but kind of crap. Graphics were ugly, heroes were way over powered and just kind of average in other areas.
What should I do if I see him in public? Should I call the police or just mind my own business? Who will look after my children if he comes after me? Should I invest in a rape whistle? Who can I turn to for help? There are so many uneasy feelings of uncertainty and countless questions running through my mind when I look into The Eyes of the Reviewer.

Yes, it is generally acknowledged that IV took the game to an all-new level that has not been equaled since, as V was a step backward (an ugly, unweildy clone of III). Unfortunately, the new company that owns the franchise fails to see this and it looks like it will continue to crank out boring and obsolete III hacks. Sad.
Heroes 3 is the best, I tried to get into heroes 4 but it's just not the same and the music in 4 that opera that just keeps freaking you out sounds horrible, I mean you play this game for hours and after first several minutes it already gets on your nerves so annoying...That same music is playing for the most part of this video, I haven't played the game in years and it still gives me the creeps, I cannot put enough emphasis on how annoying it is! And heroes 5 is even creepier!

So me and my friends at first hated Heroes IV we did not understand it, And you cannot understand HOMM IV in 1 hour:))
Anyway after trying it mostly began to entertain us, and discovered many beautifull things about it, its more balanced then III and the artefacts, spells and combinations you can choose for heroes are awesome!
So yes, i still play it with pleasure..i love them all

In heroes 3 and 5 its all about the army, and the hero is there to support the army. in heroes 4 however its all about the hero and the army is there to support the hero
I prefer heroes 4 over the other HOMM, because of the RPG element, and the campaigns work really well when heroes can group with each other, unlike the other HOMM where it is rather awkward
In all heroes game a main, high-lvl hero is vital. Especially in Heroes 3 where there are skills combined with _imbalanced_ heroes special abilitys. For instance Crag Hack. If you get him to lvl 20 with some behemoths his basically unstoppable - unlike crappy Solmyrh.
yes this game was special for me too.i dont even compare this game with 3.maybe main of the few downsides was that you had to choose between cretures wich to select.i mean for this faction who can select hydras over black dragons or cyclops over ogre etc.
@tanerakyol actually if you are not a gold millionaire (which is possible at champion rates) hydras can be useful. or against might you don't need the magic resistance of your dragons they just don't worth 8k anymore. cyclops vs ogre... split cycplopses into 3 groups with a gm tactics hero and some tank and they rape everything. For ogres you're depsarately in need of a range attacker hero with gm magic res or else he gots cc-d and you're done. Every creature is useful with appropriate group.
Heroes 3 is by no doubt the best game in the series, Heroes 4 is ok but i hated alot of new things they did, like 2 towns in one or no specialty to heroes.
Heroes 5 is the 2nd best game in the series but does not beat Heroes 3.
Heroes V doesn't really feel like a HOMM game to me plus I hate the cutscenes in it. They just seem so cheap and artificial.
I liked the grittiness of the Heroes III cut scenes better than the Heroes V ones.
Heroes V is ok, but I oddly like Heroes IV better than that it, and I remember not liking Heroes IV when it came out. Then again I still love the first two heroes, but Vista again. The only ones I can run on this rig is III complete and V.
@notyoursavior78 HOMM4 supposedly had a much smaller budget and I think they did a fantastic job on the game if that is the case. I was playing the other day and a faerie dragon fired of two bolts of lightening in a row (two diff strikes by two diff dragons) and both sound effects were different in a way which made it quite believable sounding (different echos and all). I've been playing the game for years and I'm still finding new things in which the developers did an amazing job in detail.
@xycadium Yeah wasn't Homm4 one of the last games NWC/3D0 put out? Then they went bankrupt so I wouldn't think they had a very large budget for it. Yeah as I've written here before the narrative, music and general presentation was fantastic.
I believe it was (Winds of War being the last and M&M9) the last thing they did. But, I'm still very much pleased with the game even through their budget was probably quite low for it. You can tell that they put a lot of attention to detail in nearly all portions of the game showing that a lot of love went into it. Everywhere I go though I see a lot of negativity towards homm4 so I'm one of the few that think it was an amazingly well put together game. I bet it would have really rocked if more $

Heroes of M&M 3 and 4 are the best Heroes M&M games.
Heroes 3 has the best monster/town system
Heroes 4 has an awsome hero system, expect you can't pick your own hero at the start. But in battle heroes are much more important than in Heroes 3
