I hate this that you have to transfer the thre regis (DP) or get a Fateful Encounter Regigigas (P) to get either.

Why can't they just make it possible to obtain them somehow else?

I remember catching regigigas in diamond.brave nature.I boosted its stats with every vitamin 10 times each and i started training it randomly with a power bracer on.I was amazed at how much the atk stat rose after each lv.It started with +6,+8(I was like wow!) but then after a few levels it grew drastically each time by +13,+14 one time +16(I freaked out!).Long story short it's now lv 100 with an atk 456.on double battles use gastro acid on it and it's an awesome pkmn to have..

To 'activate' Regigigas, you need Regirock, -ice and -steel in your party. To get the three Regis, you need to catch them on Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald, then use the Pal Park to transfer them to Diamond, Pearl or Platinum. Easy catch though, no health loss and just a few Dusk Balls. For a reason I can't figure out, Regigigas is level 1 on Platinum though :/

you need to have regice regirock and registeel in your party, [sorry if thats not the correct spelling] you have to import them from pokemon ruby / sapphire / emerald. once you do that go to pal park, catch em, and put them in your party, then just talk to regigigas again, and it will start the battle, hope this helps ya.
