As a libertarian, I have had the chance to argue with people of multiple political persuasions. I have noticed that when I argue with conservatives, I am met with a debate of logic and morals. When I argue with liberals, there is no debate... simply ad hominem attacks and insults. They can't even stand behind their arguments because, against any independent moral basis or simple economic logic (like the fact that Keynesian model has NEVER worked and Hayek's has..), THEY SIMPLY DON'T HOLD UP.

I think it's because polling basically herds the population in a certain direction early on and the media basically tells the populace who to vote for. So lots and lots of mortgages went out to people who clearly had no business with a mortgage, and they defaulted. Bush repeatedly called for regulation to no avail. When we don't have to think about it, prices go crazy. Our car insurance isn't used to pay for general maintenance. It's out of pocket, and the cost is relatively low. Couldn't a visit to the doctor be the same way? Not immediately of course....it's a horribly complicated problem both sides have made worse.

I think it's because polling basically herds the population in a certain direction early on and the media basically tells the populace who to vote for. So lots and lots of mortgages went out to people who clearly had no business with a mortgage, and they defaulted. Bush repeatedly called for regulation to no avail. @urparanoia Both parties for decades have "trained" us to think that paying for our healthcare is the responsibility of someone else, namely an employer. When we don't have to think about it, prices go crazy. Our car insurance isn't used to pay for general maintenance. It's out of pocket, and the cost is relatively low. Couldn't a visit to the doctor be the same way? Not immediately of course....it's a horribly complicated problem both sides have made worse.

She warned of OTC Derivatives bringing down the economy and Greenspan and others shot her down. @thecrazyjewishkid WHOA now buckaroo that's the definition? its an idealists one .last i heard liberalism is making me buy health insurance or punish me ..wasn't communism supposed to be good ... but what did it end up spawning untold millions dead and in prison or oppressed

@why760nitro Obama is not liberal. He is a democrat. Being liberal means I advocate personal and economic freedoms. If you feel the need to defend your home with an automatic rifle that's fine with me. If you want to marry a person of the same gender that's fine with me.
